Welcome back for Thankful Thursday, if this is your first time here, welcome.
Hubby and I had the chance to spend the weekend running around and hanging out with some friends, but these weren’t just any friends, it was my best friend.
So I have been spending time being thankful for her. She is one of the people that knows me so well and I don’t have to explain anything to her, she and I can finish one another's sentences and knows what the other is thinking without a word.
We can spend time just being quiet, and it’s not uncomfortable.
We share the love of the same things.
We can cry together
We can laugh together, and we do.
She is like a sister to me.
She is Donna.
What are you thankful for today? Check out what others are saying @ Grace Alone . Thanks Irisfor being such a gracious hostess.

ReplyDeleteTrue friends that are like your best friend are treasurs. Not everyone has one. You are a blessed lady!

Thank you for visiting my blog yesterday.
ReplyDeleteOh, I rejoice with you for the blessing of Donna in your life. I've discovered that true, lifelong friends are rare. Most of the time, the friendships in our lives are seasonal, and when that particular season is over (same church, same neighborhood, kids' soccer, etc.), the relationship falls away. I used to grieve that, but then I realized that it was part of God's plan. I mean, just for time reasons, every single person we meet can't be a lifelong, forever friend.
So it's a thrill when we know that we DO have one such friend. Yours is Donna...mine is my friend Julia. We haven't lived near one another since 1998, and yet, our friendship hasn't just survived, it has thrived. We even pray together once a week...over the phone.
Yes, a best friend is something for which to give thanks.
Blessings,
Patti
A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
