Passion of Christ

What are you doing tomorrow?…After my church services and family meal, we will settle in to watch this.

How bout you?

This film opens in Gethsemane in medias res as Jesus prays and is tempted by Satan, while his apostles, Peter, James and John sleep. After receiving thirty pieces of silver, one of Jesus' other apostles, Judas Iscariot, approaches with the temple guards and betrays Jesus with a kiss. As the guards move in to arrest Jesus, Peter cuts off the ear of Malchus, but Jesus heals the ear. The temple guards arrest Jesus and the apostles flee. John tells Mary and Mary Magdalene of the arrest. Peter follows Jesus at a distance. Caiaphas holds a trial of Jesus over the objection of some of the other priests, who are expelled from the court. When questioned by Caiaphas whether he is the son of God, Jesus replies "I AM". Caiaphas is horrified and tears his robes and Jesus is condemned to death for blasphemy. Three times Peter denies knowing Jesus, but then runs away sobbing. Meanwhile, the remorseful Judas attempts to return the money to have Jesus freed, but is refused by the priests. He is later approached by two children who offer him help. He refuses it and the children thinks he is cursed. They bully him while more children join the fun. Tormented by demons, he flees the city and the bullying children and hangs himself with a rope from a dead donkey.

Caiaphas brings Jesus before Pontius Pilate to be condemned to death, but after questioning Jesus, Pilate sends him instead to the court of Herod Antipas, as Jesus is from Herod's ruling town of Nazareth. After Jesus is returned, Pilate offers the crowd that he will chastise Jesus and then will set him free. Pilate attempts to have Jesus freed by giving the people an option of freeing Jesus or the violent criminal Barabbas. To Pilate's dismay, the crowd demands to have Barabbas freed and Jesus killed. In an attempt to appease the crowd, Pilate has Jesus brutally scourged and mocked with a crown of thorns, yet the crowd continues to demand that Jesus be crucified. Pilate is left with no choice but to reluctantly order Jesus' crucifixion.

As Jesus carries the cross along the Via Dolorosa to Calvary, Seraphia wipes Jesus's face with her veil. Simon of Cyrene is unwillingly pressed into carrying the cross with Jesus. Jesus is then crucified. As he hangs from the cross, Jesus prays forgiveness for those who did this to him and redeems a criminal crucified next to him. After Jesus gives up his spirit and dies, a single drop of rain falls from the sky, triggering an earthquake which destroys the Temple and rips the cloth covering the Holy of Holies in two, to the horror of Caiaphas and the other priests. Satan is then shown screaming in defeat. The story ends with Jesus rising from the dead and exiting his tomb.

John 3:16 -

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Will you be watching

I know I will be, if not, the recorder will be.

Katie Lapp is known in her Amish community for not always adhering to the strict rules of the religious township. When she discovers her parents have long kept secret the fact she was adopted and that her birth mother is trying to contact her, she brings great shame to her father by refusing to marry the town’s bishop. Shunned by her community and family, Katie struggles between the only home she has known and the outside world.

Front Door Welcome

A fall wreath for your front door is the perfect way to welcome the beautiful fall season.

I love autumn wreaths, the vibrant colors, and all the hues of the season, with sprinkles of nature peeking through. Here are a few that I have saved in my “idea” bank.

autumn1The thing I like most about this one is all the sunflowers.

fall-wreath2And with this one, I really like all the fruit and berries….

bittersweet wreathBut I think this one is by far my favorite.  I {heart} bittersweet.  So simple and colorful.  Martha Stewart show us how to create this wreath, here

autumn-wreathThere is so many elements of this one that I really like too, here again is my bittersweet, but my sunflowers are mixed in with it.  And I would have never thought to put my corn in the mix.

wreath1Beautiful!

wreath2 Wow, loving the Japanese lanterns mixed with the bittersweet.  Such a great punch of color.

We all know you don’t have to use a fall wreath on the front door, it makes a festive centerpiece for the table, by just adding some candles or a hurricane lamp or glass vase. The possibilities are endless.

Autumn-MSo what do you use as your centerpiece for the Harvest season?

I have a wreath that I need to rework…now I have some great ideas, if you really don’t know how to create a wreath, the video below will give you a general idea of how you can put one together.  Take a look!

Something is on my mind

and today I want to share it with you.  If you have been keeping up with me here, you know for the most part for a while now I have been struggling with much.  Either through post that I have written or lack of written post.

I feel as though my whole world has been under attack lately.  Now I know this isn’t true, but the feeling remains the same. When times are like these, I just want to cling to God and his word and promises, but for some reason, I have been struggling with that too.  Maybe because sometimes, I just don’t get it.  But let me tell you a about a little find I have found.  It’s a book written by Lysa Terkeurst called “Becoming More than a good bible study girl”.  Wow…I have just started reading it and it’s wonderful and answers so many of my questions about my relationship with God.

Take a peek at one of her videos

Just in the first part  of the book  “In My Heart”, she talks about….

  1. Trying to Be Good Enough
  2. Flitting To and Fro
  3. When I Feel like I Don’t Measure Up

If these are topics that you can relate too, then you have to read it.  With each page I turn I am eager for her help in getting out of this “rut”. The rut of desiring and knowing God more intimately, and not knowing how to get there.  If you feel this way, then perhaps this would be a good read for you too.

If any of you have read it, I would love to know if and how it affected your “knowing God” better.

Ok…off to have my quiet time now.

Oh BTW…

Courtney of Women Living Well, is hosting this challenge for wives. Every Monday, June 7 - August 9, Courtney will be sharing biblical principles about how to be the woman your man needs. Mark your calendars and join me in becoming the women our husbands need.

Thursday Thoughts

Hi buddies, Can you believe it, another post for me...what is she going to talk about today? Ah, who knows. I have had a slow morning here at work and so thought I would work on a post. I know I should be working on some more training, but don't feel inspired to that....YET! I will....

DSC00021 This morning my mind has been busy working overtime, with all kinds of thoughts about home, family, spiritual, you name it. I feel my existence tugging on me in a million little directions. Now for me that can be a bad thing, but actually now, it's not, It's a good thing. I feel like I have my motivation back, which has been lacking for a while now. Over the course of the last several days (maybe week) I have been working on getting my perspective back to where it is/was suppose to be. For a while, I was just one tired soul. Since my new schedule, I am feeling more "normal" and rested. It is simply amazing what a difference and outlook you have when your body gets proper rest. My optimistic attitude had become more negative. Which is a trait I simply hate. I know that is a strong word, but it is so true for me. Do you realize how many people have negative attitudes and they don't even realize it? For me, I do realize when mine is like that. And I don't like it. And seems no matter what I was doing it wasn't getting better. Praise God, I don't feel that way anymore. For the most part, I am back to my happy little self with way to much going on. :) Oh well, I know it is temporary. Once our house projects are complete, things should settle down.

So did you all see my video that I posted last night? Isn't Chondra a funny lady? Just love her humor and the way she can laugh at herself. I have found another woman that I also enjoy, her name is Jeanne Robertson, see what you think!

Well, I am going to work on a little post for my homemaking site, so if you want to check it out...jump on over there.

Hope your having a blessed week.

I decided that today I would repost something that I posted a while back but saw it again recently and it made me smile/laugh just as it did before.  See if you remember this...

Now here is one you may not have seen.

A little of this and a little of that

Hi all....just wanted to hop on here for just a second and drop a note to let you all know that I am still around. Just busy STILL with things to do for this wedding. We are getting down to the last fews days before we head to Kentucky. I thank you all for the well wishes that you have left me either on my site or via email. It means alot to me.

Last night, Michael and I along with my sons and our friends finally went to the George Strait concert. For those of you that remember we were suppose to go back in January but was postponed because George was sick. It was totally awesome. That is the third time I have seen him, and he only gets better.

Tori is Lexington Kentucky this weekend with her dad going to a University of Kentucky cheer camp. Those cheerleaders have always been her inspiration in the arena of cheering and it is a great opportunity to go to their camp and actually be taught by them. I am sure she will come home with tons of stories. Can't wait to she gets back to hear all about it.

Now, I want to share something with you that I got in a email today from a dear friend. I will tell you that it might be disturbing to watch, but I feel it is worthwhile to pass along. I hope if you feel the same way you will pass it along too.

If you feel led to share this and spread the word, then please pick up this url http://youtube.com/watch?v=JW4LLwkgmqA and share it as well.

Hope you all have a blessed weekend.
Love and hugs,
