Acts 4:10,12“then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.””

Weekly Roundup- March 1,2013

Good Afternoon Ladies,  I always enjoyed doing this post because I love looking around blogland.  And who doesn’t like seeing how others put things together or how someone redoes something.  Sometimes taking trash to treasure.  It varies week to week on what I feel like posting here, but my sincere hope is that you will find something that inspires you and sparks your creativity.

chocolate bunny
Carlene @ Organized Clutter painted this little bunny and it looks like the delectable Easter Bunny treat.  Really think this is adorable.

cherry blossom branches

Nici @ Posed Perfection created these cherry blossoms, I think if I was doing them I would use pink tissue paper. But love this easy and cute idea

EasterTreeDIY 015

Amber @ The Honeysuckle Bus Stop created a easy Easter tree. Another super easy and inexpensive craft project for spring.

stampin eggs

Jaime from Crafty Scrappy Happy shared how to make these adorable eggs.  Want to do these.

Those are a few of the things that I found this week that I feel are quite doable and inexpensive to add to your home this Easter or Spring. Feel free to share a idea with us.

  Blessings,

Happy Easter!

Did you know that The Easter Story is   told from four different perspectives in the Bible:Matthew 26:47-27:61, Mark 14:42-15:47, Luke 22:47-23:56, and John 18-19.

1 Peter 1:18-19“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”

Passion of Christ

What are you doing tomorrow?…After my church services and family meal, we will settle in to watch this.

How bout you?

This film opens in Gethsemane in medias res as Jesus prays and is tempted by Satan, while his apostles, Peter, James and John sleep. After receiving thirty pieces of silver, one of Jesus' other apostles, Judas Iscariot, approaches with the temple guards and betrays Jesus with a kiss. As the guards move in to arrest Jesus, Peter cuts off the ear of Malchus, but Jesus heals the ear. The temple guards arrest Jesus and the apostles flee. John tells Mary and Mary Magdalene of the arrest. Peter follows Jesus at a distance. Caiaphas holds a trial of Jesus over the objection of some of the other priests, who are expelled from the court. When questioned by Caiaphas whether he is the son of God, Jesus replies "I AM". Caiaphas is horrified and tears his robes and Jesus is condemned to death for blasphemy. Three times Peter denies knowing Jesus, but then runs away sobbing. Meanwhile, the remorseful Judas attempts to return the money to have Jesus freed, but is refused by the priests. He is later approached by two children who offer him help. He refuses it and the children thinks he is cursed. They bully him while more children join the fun. Tormented by demons, he flees the city and the bullying children and hangs himself with a rope from a dead donkey.

Caiaphas brings Jesus before Pontius Pilate to be condemned to death, but after questioning Jesus, Pilate sends him instead to the court of Herod Antipas, as Jesus is from Herod's ruling town of Nazareth. After Jesus is returned, Pilate offers the crowd that he will chastise Jesus and then will set him free. Pilate attempts to have Jesus freed by giving the people an option of freeing Jesus or the violent criminal Barabbas. To Pilate's dismay, the crowd demands to have Barabbas freed and Jesus killed. In an attempt to appease the crowd, Pilate has Jesus brutally scourged and mocked with a crown of thorns, yet the crowd continues to demand that Jesus be crucified. Pilate is left with no choice but to reluctantly order Jesus' crucifixion.

As Jesus carries the cross along the Via Dolorosa to Calvary, Seraphia wipes Jesus's face with her veil. Simon of Cyrene is unwillingly pressed into carrying the cross with Jesus. Jesus is then crucified. As he hangs from the cross, Jesus prays forgiveness for those who did this to him and redeems a criminal crucified next to him. After Jesus gives up his spirit and dies, a single drop of rain falls from the sky, triggering an earthquake which destroys the Temple and rips the cloth covering the Holy of Holies in two, to the horror of Caiaphas and the other priests. Satan is then shown screaming in defeat. The story ends with Jesus rising from the dead and exiting his tomb.

John 3:16 -

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Weekly Roundup 4-8-11

Good Morning, I decided that I wanted to get back to doing my weekly roundup so here we go again.  Alot of people enjoyed when I did this before, but due to so many obstacles and little detours in my real life, I haven’t had the time to devote to reading and “loving” on blogs.  So here are some of my favorite things I “loved” this week.

You know that monograms are the “thing” now.  But boy can monogrammed goodies add up.  At mugs at around $6.00 a whack or more you can’t afford to many.  This might be a option.

How cute are these monogrammed mugs?  These are a DIY project I found @ Design Mom

porcelain pens You can find the porcelain pens for this project @ DickBlick

Just think of all the things you can write on with these pens.

I can feel the wheels turning in my head already with all the fun things I could do with these little babies.  “Could these be as dangerous as paint?”  Nah, surely not!

With Spring here or in most places, I wanted to share something that I am in love with. This next little do it yourself project is to die for.   Stephanie Lynn @ Under the Table and Dreaming shares with us how to create this.  I {HEART}this.A  Make sure you allow yourself some time when visiting Stephanie, as she has lots and lots of wonderful things to see.  It’s fabulous.

With Easter on the way, folks are getting crafty with their accessories. I have spent time this week searching for some fun and creative ideas for Easter. Something that is new to me.  Isn’t  this a adorable Easter Egg Wreath.  Who would of thought to use yarn this way.  Now I might could use do this one. Check out Trisha @ The Sweet Survival.  {I think this could be a adorable wreath for a baby’s room}

Or how ‘bout her Moss Balls

I really like this too, they bring a touch of earthiness( is that a word) to the room.  Definitely want to make some of these.

Another fun Easter wreath.

This Easter wreath with made with  pussy willow and grapevine.  Love this, and how simple is that?.  This creation is by Good Housekeeping.

Although there are lots of things to look at out there in “blog land” these are a few things that I tucked away in “my do” file.  What do you have tucked away in yours?

Rainy Monday

PG-AGLphone but it’s a busy one here.  I’ve been on the phone this morning ALL morning, taking care of business.  :)  Can you believe that I have been paying for a web service for over several years(at least 3 or more) and wasn’t using it.  I called and got that taken care of this morning.  No more payments to them.  Woo Hoo.  I can’t believe how I sat on the fence for so long with that.  But each time I tried in the past to cancel it, it was more work than it was worth the 13.00 a month I was paying.  But at some time you realize that it just keeps adding up.  So I had to put a STOP to it.  One thing down…

Then I had to contact the real estate agency….we are getting ready to put our house on the market and we have decided to try a different realtor than the one we used last year.  So we have a appt. for the realtor to come to the house on Wednesday evening for a walk through and get the ball rolling with that.  With the market the way it is, who knows if we will sell it….but hoping that we get a buyer so we can move on with our future plans.

PG-AGLcooking Today is the perfect day to do some cleaning, although I don’t have alot that has to be done, but thinking that I might spend a good deal of time in my kitchen today.  Maybe I will give it a good spring clean.  Work on dinner plans for tonight and maybe do some baking.  All that said, that is IF I can get motivated.  I do have some work I need to do on the computer, so might do that instead.  :)

HappyEaster_1I have to tell you all I won….I won a Easter Blessing giveaway that my friend Sue is  hosting from her wonderful site Country Pleasures.   I couldn’t believe it when she contacted me.  I am beyond thrilled.  :) Thanks Sue!  Now I have something to look forward too coming in the mail.

summer houseDid you have a good weekend?  We sure did, the weather here was absolutely beautiful with temps in the high 60’s to mid 70’s. I got the weeds out of my flower beds  and now you can see what is actually starting to come up.  I can’t wait for flowers to start poking through the ground.  It’s still a bit to early here to pot any plants for outdoors for fear of frost….but as soon as the weather man gives me the okay my porches and deck will be laden with assorted color. This photo was taken several years ago and I love the screen door, however, we have since replaced the door with a door that has a big oval window in, so the screen door has gone bye bye.  But I love screen doors, they are a favorite memory of mine as a child.  I love hearing them slam shut!

Well the guy for my roof is here, so need to scoot.  Hope you have a blessed and fun-filled Monday!

Thinking about bunnies

Another weekend has come and gone.  It was a slow weekend here.  I wish I could say that I got lots done, but that wouldn’t be the truth.  I didn’t have a great weekend and so most of it, I just spent doing some reflection and reading.  Not sure any of you ever feel this way, but I know I do.  Hoping for a much better week.

This morning the skies look clear and bright, but I know this is short lived.  We crocus_snow have another  snow headed our way this afternoon….I am really needing some sun and some warmth.  :) Seems like we just got dug out from the last 2.5 foot of snow that we got last week…hoping and praying that this will be dusting or a few inches…I can’t even bring myself to look at the forecast.

Now that Valentines Day is behind us, (did you all have a good one?) I guess I need to focus on Easter.  We all know that it will be here before we know it.  With that I thought I would share with you a little bunny that I “prettied up”.

First, my bunny in all it’s Paper Mache glory…..that I picked up at the antique mall for peanuts.

20100131_10

I gave her a coat of paint, not sure what color it was, it was more of a off white

20100131_14

Once she was all dried, I antiqued her, using my trusty shoe polish.  Yes, I have used shoe polish for years as a way of aging my goodies.

20100131_13

After that was completed, I dressed her in a pretty purple bow.  Now she is just waiting to be “on display”.  Maybe that will come this week.

20100131_16 Got any Easter projects you are working on?  Oh do tell!

Got a few more projects on the table, so keep checking back.
