Weekly Roundup- March 1,2013

Good Afternoon Ladies,  I always enjoyed doing this post because I love looking around blogland.  And who doesn’t like seeing how others put things together or how someone redoes something.  Sometimes taking trash to treasure.  It varies week to week on what I feel like posting here, but my sincere hope is that you will find something that inspires you and sparks your creativity.

chocolate bunny
Carlene @ Organized Clutter painted this little bunny and it looks like the delectable Easter Bunny treat.  Really think this is adorable.

cherry blossom branches

Nici @ Posed Perfection created these cherry blossoms, I think if I was doing them I would use pink tissue paper. But love this easy and cute idea

EasterTreeDIY 015

Amber @ The Honeysuckle Bus Stop created a easy Easter tree. Another super easy and inexpensive craft project for spring.

stampin eggs

Jaime from Crafty Scrappy Happy shared how to make these adorable eggs.  Want to do these.

Those are a few of the things that I found this week that I feel are quite doable and inexpensive to add to your home this Easter or Spring. Feel free to share a idea with us.

  Blessings,

Cindy

Weekly Roundup - October 28th, 2011

Today’s Weekly Roundup has no theme whatsoever.  Kinda all over the place like I have been lately.  But some fun stuff from all over the web.

Kate’s Mad Scientist Potion

Chris @ Just a Girl created a “spooky” wreath that I really like.

Ericka @ Thrifty and Fabulous creates a mini bulletin in her cabinet. Wonderful idea if your cramped on space.

I’m loving this idea for next year from Bon Appetit .  Definitely something I would like to try for my next large gathering next summer.

Love this idea from AZCentral.  I see many alternatives to this.  I think this would be great for any holiday, use it to house wine or sparkling cider, instead of cranberries, you could use orange slices, apple slices, etc.  basically whatever works for that season.  Love this idea.

Another clever idea, who would have thought of making a grilled cheese in a toaster.

Grill Cheese Social did.  Take a look.

A great use for those old tee shirts we have.  How adorable is this scarf?  Cathy shows us how to make these at Lakeland Local

A girlie pumpkin from BHG, this just says sweet!  I think this says precious.

Diane @ In My Own Style shows us a great use of space for the craft room.
Wowser!!!!  I’m not sure if I am more impressed with the use of space and all the great organization, or the idea of all those supplies in one space.  Wonderful idea.

Well these are a  handful of the things that caught my eye while surfing the web this week.

Well today looks like another gloomy fall day with a wet gloomy weekend in the forecast.  Fall definitely is in full swing here.  Happy Friday!

1 Peter 1:24-25“For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.”

Gotta love chalkboard clings

C
halkboard paint, vinyl's, and clings are everywhere in blogland right now, of course I had to try this for myself.  I (heart) it!!!

I went from this:

033

to this:

041

What ya think?

It was so easy to do once I found the Chalkboard clings.  I ordered mine from ABC Stuff

A brief tutorial on how I made mine, really super easy!

First I found a object that I could trace around.

Trace

035

I continued tracing until I had them all traced out

036

Then cut out your shapes

038

Place them on your item like so
And go from this to
039

this

041

If you have used these chalkboard clings, what have you made?

Any ideas on what I should do next with chalkboard adhesive?

Weekly Roundup 5/6/11

S
ome favorite things that caught my attention this week.  All I can say, is there is soooooo much fun stuff out there in blogland.  There is no way to see it all.

Let’s get started

Oh my my, I fell in love when I saw this bookmarks.   Andrea @ Everyday Beauty

Not only do I think they are awesome so did Country Living as they were  featured there as well.

ornate bookmarks

Kimberly @ Here on Crow Creek gives a brief tutorial on how she makes her signs.  This is a great alternative if you don’t have a silhouette or cricket machine (and I don’t).  Definitely will give this a try, because who doesn’t LOVE signs?

EAT sign

And I also found this little idea, I love the way that Suzanne @ Just another hang up created this wonderful wall of accolades.  What a special way to show off your kids and grandkids artwork.

Art Gallery Wall

Check this out:

Before I leave you today I want to share with you my latest addiction….it’s called pinning…if you haven’t tried it, you should…but I worn you it’s very addicting.  Make sure you wait until you have LOADS of time…or not…tee hee…but either way check it out, especially if you love saving images and recipes and just things you love from the internet.

Beth @ The Stories of A to Z has a helpful tutorial on how to use Pinterest.   Also as a bonus Beth has a link for immediate access to the site (instead of having to wait, like I did) .

Now I know my interest where a little all over the place this week, but that is kinda how my head is screwed on lately.   Not to mention, while working on this post I was interrupted like a million times.

James 5:16“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

Weekly Roundup 4-8-11

Good Morning, I decided that I wanted to get back to doing my weekly roundup so here we go again.  Alot of people enjoyed when I did this before, but due to so many obstacles and little detours in my real life, I haven’t had the time to devote to reading and “loving” on blogs.  So here are some of my favorite things I “loved” this week.

You know that monograms are the “thing” now.  But boy can monogrammed goodies add up.  At mugs at around $6.00 a whack or more you can’t afford to many.  This might be a option.

DIYmonogrammug17

How cute are these monogrammed mugs?  These are a DIY project I found @ Design Mom

porcelain pens You can find the porcelain pens for this project @ DickBlick

Just think of all the things you can write on with these pens.

I can feel the wheels turning in my head already with all the fun things I could do with these little babies.  “Could these be as dangerous as paint?”  Nah, surely not!

With Spring here or in most places, I wanted to share something that I am in love with. This next little do it yourself project is to die for.   Stephanie Lynn @ Under the Table and Dreaming shares with us how to create this.  I {HEART}this.A  Make sure you allow yourself some time when visiting Stephanie, as she has lots and lots of wonderful things to see.  It’s fabulous.

galvanized bucket flower pot

With Easter on the way, folks are getting crafty with their accessories. I have spent time this week searching for some fun and creative ideas for Easter. Something that is new to me.  Isn’t  this a adorable Easter Egg Wreath.  Who would of thought to use yarn this way.  Now I might could use do this one. Check out Trisha @ The Sweet Survival.  {I think this could be a adorable wreath for a baby’s room}

Or how ‘bout her Moss Balls

I really like this too, they bring a touch of earthiness( is that a word) to the room.  Definitely want to make some of these.

moss balls

Another fun Easter wreath.

Egg-Wreath-Craft-fb

This Easter wreath with made with  pussy willow and grapevine.  Love this, and how simple is that?.  This creation is by Good Housekeeping.

Although there are lots of things to look at out there in “blog land” these are a few things that I tucked away in “my do” file.  What do you have tucked away in yours?

One project down

and several to go…today I am going to link up @Frou Frou Decor with my Fabulous Friday Find, and if you want to check out some great little projects then stop over and say hello.  Thanks Terrell for sharing your party with me.

One day last week while I was scouring the local Goodwill shop, I ran across this old spice rack for $2.  (Forgive the quality of these pictures, hey, at least I remembered to grab the camera.  LOL)

20100924_11So earlier this week when I had nothing better to do….NOT!  I decided I would take a little trip to the local store and pick up some white spray paint….so I could work on this.  I am quite pleased how it turned out. After two coats of paint, and one coat of antiquing, and a little sanding…this is how it looks now.

After

20100924_28

You can see how well the original paint came through when I sanded it.  It’s almost finished, I need to add a sealer to it.

20100924_29

So what do you think?  Better? Worse? And now to figure out what to do with it.  Debating on whether to use it in the kitchen or in my craft room..leaning more towards the craft room.

Have a blessed and wonderful Friday.

Thinking about bunnies

Another weekend has come and gone.  It was a slow weekend here.  I wish I could say that I got lots done, but that wouldn’t be the truth.  I didn’t have a great weekend and so most of it, I just spent doing some reflection and reading.  Not sure any of you ever feel this way, but I know I do.  Hoping for a much better week.

This morning the skies look clear and bright, but I know this is short lived.  We crocus_snow have another  snow headed our way this afternoon….I am really needing some sun and some warmth.  :) Seems like we just got dug out from the last 2.5 foot of snow that we got last week…hoping and praying that this will be dusting or a few inches…I can’t even bring myself to look at the forecast.

Now that Valentines Day is behind us, (did you all have a good one?) I guess I need to focus on Easter.  We all know that it will be here before we know it.  With that I thought I would share with you a little bunny that I “prettied up”.

First, my bunny in all it’s Paper Mache glory…..that I picked up at the antique mall for peanuts.

20100131_10

I gave her a coat of paint, not sure what color it was, it was more of a off white

20100131_14

Once she was all dried, I antiqued her, using my trusty shoe polish.  Yes, I have used shoe polish for years as a way of aging my goodies.

20100131_13

After that was completed, I dressed her in a pretty purple bow.  Now she is just waiting to be “on display”.  Maybe that will come this week.

20100131_16 Got any Easter projects you are working on?  Oh do tell!

Got a few more projects on the table, so keep checking back.

Week Roundup

Blog Most are like me and spend way to much time during the week reading everyone's blogs'.  But there are so many talented and creative women out there to learn from.  Here are a few post that I really liked this week.  Either for their creative talent with DIY’s or for their  wonderful usable tips.

moving boxesMelissa over at 320 Sycamore had some great ideas regarding to moving.   She called this her Moving System.  Great ideas and helpful tips for your next upcoming move. I will have to implement some of these if not all in my upcoming move this year.  She shows us how to keep things together so that finding “our stuff” is easier to find after the move. Great tips Melissa!

Nester shared a wonderful post about  preserving some memories.  If you missed it, check it out.  I love this idea. framed art I actually went out this week and picked up some embellishments that I would like to use with some photos and my children’s work.   If your like me I have folders full of things my children created when they were small, because I couldn’t part with them.  Now I am glad I did.  Guess now, I need to find that box of goodies, so that I can “show off” their work.

Whites22Jennifer at Balance and Bedlam had a wonderful post about DIY pedestal cake plates.  How to create your own from odd and ends pieces that you pick up.  Mismatched pieces that are lovely can still be used.   Another project for me in the near future.  Goodwill and yard sales are great places to find “unloved” pieces.

Shelley at How Does She made the cutest Dipped Oreo Cookies and there is a great tutorial-061tutorial.  Gotta definitely try this…the possibilities are endless. This was a post she did before the holidays, but could easily be done for Valentines day. The tutorial is easy peasy.

Plus she has some cute  Valentine treat ideas that she has single-heart-in-cellophanegathered from across the web. Of course, I have these bookmarked.

LeAnne at Organize and Decorate Everything has a wonderful post on Conquering Magazine clutter.  If your like me, you have magazines and lots of them.  Hop over and see how she corrals them. magazine  She has a wonderful site with lots of  great ideas and tips on controlling clutter.

Guess I should scoot, got quite a bit to do today before the snow storm hits, but hoping I will get a chance to tackle some of my things on my “to do” list.  Might be a good weekend for working on reorganizing and crafting.

Have a blessed Friday!

Sweets anyone?

I promised a to show you what I did with this little silver dish, that I picked up at the Goodwill yesterday for one dollar.  Yep!  {heart } it.  I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw it.  (I have been scouring shops for some little silver pieces, nothing big, just small pieces that I can use here and there and doesn’t take up lots a room)  Not sure about you, but I don’t have much more room for storage unless I really PURGE hard.

20100202_4

Basically I just added a few strawberries like this….

20100202_5Added a cloche like this…

20100202_6And came up with some more eye candy for my Valentine Tablescape.

So there you have my simple little project, nothing fancy, simple to do.

Hugs,

Cin Sig
