I'm still around

Can't believe it's been so long since my last post, but life goes on doesn't it?

Not sure what is going on with me....but lately I don't feel like I have a whole lot or anything of any merit to write about.  I seem to have a blogging block and I just need to take a bit of break I guess. In case, I am not around for a bit you will know what is going on. My hope is that this is short lived.  I am on Facebook so feel free to look me up there.  Sometimes it is easier for me to write a sentence than a post.  Would love to add you to my friends list.  When doing your search to add me as your friend, use the email addy  cindybazzy@gmail.com

I am dealing with some personal family issues, so if you think of it when your praying....please pray for me and my family.

Hugs!

Thoughtful Thursday

Hi ya'll. Thought before the weekend rolls around again, I better tell you what I've been up to this week.

This weekend I have been spent trying to keep up with everything at the house so that Michael and I can go away this weekend for a little getaway without having any cares while I am gone. Woo Hoo! Today is Tori's last day at her 'salon' job so she will be coming/moving back home. It will be wonderful to have her back at home. I have really missed her while she was at her dad's. Granted I know she misses her dad, and spending time over at his house is nice but she doesn't see him as much as she would like because of his work schedule. Guess she probably sees him more when he comes to visit with her at our house or they meet for dinner someplace . That way she has his undivided attention. Since Michael and I are going away though, she will go back to her dads for the weekend. At least he should be home and so she will be able to spend some time with him.

Michael and I have been so busy with our work schedules and everything else this summer we didn't even take a vacation. Mainly because we have made trips to Texas to visit with his mom and felt that was more important. Speaking of Texas we are planning to head back out there again over Labor Day. His mom has been having some more issues so please continue to pray for her. We feel truly blessed that she has done as well as she has, but she has been battling and fighting so much lately with fevers, sickness, and complications on top of the new chemo that they have put her on.

Last week, we took Tori to get her Senior pictures made, and we got to view the proofs on Tuesday night. It's hard for me to believe how grown up she looks and is. In a couple of weeks she will be 17 years old. I married her father at 17. I remember feeling quite mature for 17, and thought I was ready for marriage. But I can not imagine Tori wanting to get married at 17. Now I know what my poor parents must have gone through when I mentioned marrying at such a young age. Isn't it amazing how it takes having children of our own to realize what we put our parents through. Most people would say it was a mistake that we married so young but I have never felt that. Even though the marriage ended in divorce, it was a good marriage and still to this day I feel that it was right. I don't think age had anything to do with the divorce.

Really need to close and scoot. Hope you have a blessed rest of the week.
Hug!

Time Marches On....

Sitting here thinking about how time is flying by. Can't believe it's been as long as it has since I last posted. Not enough hours in the day. Please don't ask me why because quite honestly I am to tired to think. Seems like lately I just go through the motions? Do you ever do that? I feel like I am on autopilot. I do what I have to, and then everything else, just goes by the way side.

A real quick update on Betty. She is finally out of the hospital, but they sent her home with oxygen. But that is helping her feel better. She is still tired and sleeping alot but overall is feeling much better than she was. Not sure yet, if they will be able to resume her chemo this week or not. All Michael's children were there over this past weekend, and they helped out there grand dad get caught up on some things around there. Ron's primary focus is taking care of Betty's needs and so other things are let go. So I know they appreciated the extra help this weekend. Please keep Betty's health in your prayers and Ron as well.

Lately, life has consisted mostly of work, and on my weekend's off running errands. Over this past weekend I spent Saturday running around with my list and getting things and doing some shopping for me. I can't remember the last time I did that by myself. It is a rarity and it was nice. I also spent some time in a Antique Mall looking around. Found a little cabinet I fell in love with, and much to my surprise Michael went and got it for me yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised. Anyhow, I brought it in the house and we put it in my bedroom. I am using it as bookshelf for now. If I think about it I will take some pictures of it. (Speaking of, I took some several weekends ago, and Michael finally offloaded them from the camera) I took some shots of some of the goodies I have bought while out on my antique and yard sale excursions.

While on Sunday, Michael had several things to do with redoing his new office. He has been looking for furniture to replace what is in there. He finally decided on some antiques instead of typical office furniture. So we hit the stores again on Sunday. He has decided he wants to furnish this office in things that he would like to put in our home office someday. Anyway, while I was scouring th e shops with him I walked away with a few small trinkets but nothing big. I did find a "boiler" that had been painted. Fell in love with it, so grabbed it.

When I have a few minutes at home I am reading...started the third book in the "Sisters of Holmes County" called "A Sister's Hope", by Wanda Brunstetter. I have enjoyed this little series. Once I am finished with it, I have another Beverly Lewis series I am going to read. "The SummerHill Secrets" Volume 1. Looking forward to her new book coming out in the fall. Whoopee!

As you can tell, nothing exciting going on with me. Same old stuff, just another day. I think one reason I haven't posted to much is there just hasn't been anything exciting to share with you. I will try to do better. I mainly just read and lurk right now.

Need to scoot, I hope you all have a blessed day.
Hugs!

Update on Betty and more

Good Morning all, hope this finds everyone having a great week so far. It's hard to believe that we are half way through the week already.

I wanted to give a little update on Betty. She is in the hospital for the next several days and then we will go from there. Apparently she has a blood clot in one of her lungs and has a infection in both.THe doctors are saying it isn't pneumonia. After the doctors visit yesterday, he informed her that it could take between 4-6 months for the clot to dissolve. Also she is on oxygen and she is hoping to get off of it soon, but we have no word on that. Apparently with the oxygen level higher now, she is eating better and feeling better. So not sure if the oxygen is going to be a mainstay for awhile. Our prayer is that she will continue to feel better so that she can resume her chemo treatments. Her spirits have been down for awhile now, so hoping that they will be better as well. I want to thank you all for praying for her, it truly means alot to Michael and I as well as his folks. They thank you for the prayers, as prayers are really all we have.

Other than work, not alot going on this week. Michael is swamped in his new job and so we don't see each other to much during the week, and with Tori gone all week, it makes my evenings very quite. I am enjoying the time to myself though. Mainly doing low key type stuff and getting rest.

I took some pictures over the weekend of some of my yard sale finds and projects that I am working on, so hoping I can get some uploaded to share with you in the next day or two. You wouldn't believe the mess I have sprawled out in my living room floor. I am still in that organizing mode, which I feel like I have been in all year. It is a slow process for me, but I know once it is done I never want it to get in the shape it was in ever again. It's one of those things that I have put off doing for years, I have tidbits all over the place that I have saved and cut out and printed out, etc and had never really put in a proper place. So that is what I am working on now. I am building binders and folders to house this information so that it is easy to access and retrieve when I need or want it. It's getting there, and it's a good feeling. Sometimes I only have 15 minutes to devote to the project so it is going to remain on my living room floor until it is done. Figure that way, I will keep at it.

I took the time to finally set up all my RSS feeds over the weekend. Loving that. Why I didn't do that sooner is beyond me. It is so easy to stay in the loop and not miss out on any new post. Granted I had to put my list on three different computers, because that is what I use on a normal basis. Is there a easier way? If so, not sure what it is.

I don't know about you, but I love to peek into others homes and get inspired to. If any of you ladies are like me, hop over to my homemaking blog as there are some wonderful links there for home decorating inspiration. Sometimes I just drool when I look at these homes. The women are so wonderful too. Let'em know that you found there link on my blog.

For now, going to close, might be back later. If not, have a super day and remember "To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world".

Hugs!

What a day/morning

this has been already. It all started this morning when Michael brought me into work because today I am having my eye procedure again.(Please say a prayer) So he has to drive me home. Anyway, after dropping me off, he was hearing knocking noise in the car so he ended up sitting on the side of a busy roadway awaiting AAA to pick him up. Yeppers, so he is taking care of car troubles this morning and then picking me up around lunch for my appt. Is this a sign? He finally got the car over to a rental car establishment and got a rental car for me to drive the rest of the week, but we are going to have to come down and pick up the car and tow it to closer to home, and have a mechanic check it out. I pray it isn't anything major just a gasket or something. (Could you add that to your prayer list too?)

Makes me wish I could just be at home and take a hot shower/bath and cozy up and read. Speaking of bathing/showering, I found a product a few months back that I absolutely love. Have you tried this? Johnson and Johnson, Melt away Stress. If you haven't, try it. Smells wonderful and it is so smooth going on. I got it as a trial in something, and loved it so much that I use it daily.

Back home!

Wow what a busy several days I have had.! Not sure where to actually start . Michael and I arrived back in Maryland late last night to quite a "treat" from my adorable furry pal, Mocha. She left us several care packages if you know what I mean. Ugh! So guess what Michael and I were doing around midnight last night. Shampooing carpets. Yeppers. I ended up getting to bed late but fortunately I didn't go in to work today as early as I normally do. I just needed to get some sleep. If I had it to do over I would have stayed home...just feeling kinda run down...but I am sure once I get back into the swing of things I will be fine

A little rundown of my trip, friday night we arrived in Houston about 8:30 pm. I was so glad to finally be there because it was a long day. Anyway, when we got there, we visited with the family and Betty. She seemed to be doing well, but you can never tell when someone is in pain. As we found out with being there several days she was taking some powerful pain medication. But she was a trooper and we loved the time we got to spend with her. She gave Michael 'her' ring to give to me right after we arrived. I ended up having to have it sized so we took it out on Saturday morning for resizing. I will have to get Michael to take a picture of it, as it is definitely unique and no other one is like it. It still means so much to me that she wanted me to have it. Still I feel it is a honor.

Later on Saturday afternoon we got word that Grandmom had past away. She had really been going downhill since last week. But God has a wonderful and remarkable way of working things out in his timing. Since I already planned on being in Ky. on Monday and Tuesday and her viewing and burial were then. So it worked that I could be there for that as well as take care of the wedding preparations that we needed to take care of. I am so thankful that my hometown isn't a big place,so we could take care of what needed to be taken care of it a matter of hours. We got to the florist and ordered my alter and reception hall decorations. I went with tulips as my flowers. I love tulips and since it is spring I thought this would be very springy. I am going to do hycinths on the reception tables in assorted purples and pinks. The florist had some pictures of some weddings they had done in the past using tulips and it looked so nice. Very elegent and simple. That is the look I am striving for. Simple and sweet and not overly done.

We are going to have a rehearsal dinner at the church afterwards and it will be catered. Got the menu in place for that. I also am having a small reception with cake and goodies after the wedding on Saturday but afterwards we are going to have a dinner at a resturant in town(as most of our guest are from out of town). We went to the location and reserved the hall and set a menu. Whew! We also checked with the local hotels to reserve a block of rooms for out of town guest and we ordered the tuxes and Michael got fitted. We also had to run to the county clerks office to see what we needed to do to get our marriage license, since we don't live there. Got that taken care of too. So as you can see this was a busy trip. I know there is much more, but this was the highlights. Anyway, Michael and I still have quite a bit to do but we will get it done. Only five more weeks.

This weekend, I have to find shoes and lingerie to wear under the gown so that I have them for my fitting next week. We still need to get our wedding bands, and Tori's dress and shoes, and all the incidentals that go with that. I still haven't decided what I want for my hair....but will decide. The one and major thing I fear is that since I am older and this is a second wedding, I don't want it to look like I am a young adult doing this for the first time. I am just trying to stay true to myself and what I like and keeping it simple, incorporating a few things that I really like from larger weddings.

Not planning on doing much the rest of this week other than work...I need to give myself a little break from the wedding plans. I will work more on the plans this weekend. My house really needs a good cleaning but will work on that this weekend too....I plan to spend some time over the next several days catching up with emails and such. I have a ton to go through that is the worst thing when you go on a trip and can't check your mail properly and open your inbox to 3 or 4 hundred emails. YIKES! So need to get through those. I also got backed up on my bible reading, so actually played catch up with that this morning. Now I am back on schedule.

I am sitting here watching American Idol while writing this....so if it doesn't make alot of sense you understand why. Actually Michael and I have been watching the ones we recorded to get up to date. Now I am caught up, watching the current show of the girls. I thought last nights show with the boys was actually good. So far this one has been just okay for me. I think I really like this Carly. Can we do something about the tattoo though? Its so distracting.

Before I leave, can I ask you all to please remember Michael's mom again in prayer, she went back to the doctor today for more chemo and test, we don't have any news yet how things went today, but just praying that she isn't in any pain, and that the chemo will continue to reduce the tumor she has. She really wants to be at the wedding so praying it works so that she can be there.

Hope you all are having a awesome rest of the week. I will try to stop in and visit with you all soon.

God Bless and hugs!

Going Hunting!

Yep, you heard me right....not hunting for animals, but THAT dress. Michael and I are going to hit the shops today in search of my wedding dress. Who knows what I will come home with or if I will find anything at all. We took Tori and Derek out to dinner last night , Wesley was working, and we stopped and looked at some dresses for her. She found several she liked, but because of the flower situation....I need to wait on her dress. I will have a better idea of colors for her after our trip to Houston this next weekend we are leaving friday after work and flying to Houston and then to Nashville on Monday morning and heading back to Baltimore on Tuesday.

Michael and I are flying in on friday night the 29th to spend some time with his mother and see how she is feeling. (she had another chemo treatment this week) and if she thinks she will be able to make the trip to Kentucky for the wedding. To check out the flowers and pick up my ring and possibly look for dresses. It will be a busy and hectic trip. When we stop in Nashville (Russellville, my hometown) We will visit with the pastor, and the group of ladies that will be helping my mom set up the church. I will speak to the florist, the hair dresser, caterers and the county clerks office. (which reminds me I need to pull out my paperwork to take to them...ie birth certificate, divorce papers, etc...)

In a weeks time, I have gotten the cake it will be ivory color with fresh flowers , caterer, church and pastor, flowers are in the process, so I think the only major thing not taken care of is the pictures....and if he comes down to it, I will just get a good friend to take tons with her digital and we will go from there. I don't have time to sweat all the stuff. I said that is the only one thing left, but actually we got to get dresses, line up hair and nail appts, and tuxes, and airlines and hotel accomadations for out of town guest. So as you can see I still have lots to do. Granted everything has been contingent on this trip to Houston, but once we get back things will be in full swing. I have been working on list, and Michael and I have to sort everything out on them.

We still haven't decided what to do about a honeymoon, we would love to go to the tropics but that means getting our passports and making sure that we both can get adaquet time off from work. My work has pretty much okayed everything so that shouldn't be a problem...but not sure about his schedule. Are question is do we take it now, or later in the summer. Guess time will tell. So even though we have some things done, we still have tons more to do....looking forward to having this all behind me soon. In seven weeks I will be married. That is so hard to believe.

Now, on to something else....several things actually. I was off yesterday due to the weather so I did finally make a entry to my homemaking blog. You can check it out here. Of course, I have list of things to do on it, but at the moment that is going to have to take a back seat, but sometimes it is nice to delve into that and get away from all the wedding preparations.

I also got news yesterday that Don's (my ex) grandmother (my grandmother in alot of ways) was rushed to the hospital late friday night with clots in her legs behind her knee. She is having lots of trouble with circulation and the surgery seem to help.....although yesterday he was called again for them to tell him that she was going in for another surgery (eventually they decided not to do the surgery because they thought her circulation was getting better and she was just not strong enough for another surgery if they didn't need to do it) . Apparently the top part of her heart is beating at a different pace than the bottom part. Never heard of this before, but she is in major pain and in poor health. I would love to ask you all to please keep Rilda (Real-da) in your prayers as well as the family. I would greatly appreciate you lifting her up in prayer.
Also, please keep Michael and I in prayer as we continue on in our wedding plans. Pray that this wedding will come together and that it will be a union filled with God's love. I really want this marriage to be one that glorifys God. Thanks!

Well ladies, I need to scoot, got tons to do today. Until next time...

God Bless and big hugs!

Little bit of everything

Home is so much more than just a physical place- Thomas Kinkade

Hi Ladies, I have a few minutes here, so thought I would drop a little note. Hope this finds you all doing well. I am doing great, been busy with work and such, and the weather has been cold. The last two mornings I have came into work late because of the snow and ice. But I did make it here. This morning was a real chore getting my car cleaned off, but I managed, with Michael's help. What a sweetie.

Due to the weather last night, Tori's cheer competition for regionals was postponed...guess when they rescheduled it for. Tomorrow night...On Valentines night. Guess it isn't a big deal, cause I am not sure what was really going on, but had thought about ordering Chinese (Michael loves it) and put some candles out and sit and cuddle and watch a movie. We were going to be alone, as all the kids had plans already. Now we will be watching my little Valentine cheer her heart out. Oh well, I always enjoy watching her cheer, and if they place then they are on to State. She and her father are going to Kentucky in April for their cheer camp. She is so excited. She loves the Kentucky wildcat cheerleaders, they have won the title something like 16 out of 17 years. It should be a good time for her, as well as some bonding time with Dad because with that she has going on these days she doesn't have much time to spend with him.

With the upcoming three day weekend, I am hoping to get lots accomplished. You would not believe my list of things to do. I have a little project list for Michael of odd jobs that need to be done in the house, and I want to work on some more web projects. I have a list started that I keep adding to. Plan to get both the blogs updated, and then the cooking/recipe one started and up. I have been working on my Master Menu List and a Daily Schedule too for my HMB. Although I still need to complete the prayer journal. SO my weekend is going to be full.

Got a question....I have asked several friends if they have any idea how to protect our images on blogger, and we can figure out how for the sidebars, but not the center column. Any ideas?

I know this isn't pretty, because there is no graphics...but don't have any on this computer...soooooo maybe next time. Thanks to everyone that has commented on this blog and how much they like it. I have gotten some truly wonderful emails and I appreciate them all.

Please keep Michael's mom in prayer if you don't mind. We both do appreciate it more than you know, and we have informed her that I have my blogging buddies keeping her in prayer. She says "Thanks".

Hope to get around and visit with you soon.

God Bless!

It's almost bed time

and I have everything done for the night...not bad and it's 8:00 so might get lights out on time. Let me first thank you all for remembering Michael and his mom in your prayers. All I can say is Michael has felt it this visit with his mom. He said they have had an incredible visit and she is dealing with things in a very realistic manner. I haven't spoken to him today for more than 10 minutes, but I am sure I will talk to him tonight before I go to sleep. All that I have gotten so far, is that she had her first chemo treatment yesterday and whatever oral medication they are giving her she didn't get nauseated. She felt good when she got home....only tired. They apparently sat up and talked most of the night away. Michael was up at 3:30 yesterday morning,so he was running on very low energy by the time he hit the pillow. Anyhow, he didn't expect her to get up this morning, he expected her to sleep in and she ended up getting up and they had another good visit. So from what I gather, this has been a wonderful trip for him and his parents. Please remember him in prayer tomorrow (Friday) as he is flying back home. I can't tell you how truly happy I am that he got this time and it has gone well.

Last night I didn't do a whole lot, just mainly spent some time surfing the net and reading my new book. I started a new book called "The Bishops Daughter" by Wanda Brunstetter. It is really good. It is the last in a three series collection. I also took a leisurelly bath....Calgon, take me away. It was so relaxing, I just lounged with all the bubbles and my favorite soaps. Then climbed into my bed with sweet smell of "Sleep Pillow Mist" by Bath and Body Works. If you haven't tried it, you must. It is heavenly. Love it! Derek and Nikki gave me that in one of my Christmas packages. Definitely something that I hope they keep in their line.

Tori is in Driving class this week. It's a two week class that is required by the state of Maryland you have before you are allowed to get your license. It is from 6:30-9:30 M-F for two weeks. She has one more class tomorrow night. I had to run out last night after nine to get her and by the time I got home it was nearing 10:00. So needless to say I was worried about not getting enough sleep last night....but gratefully God answered my prayers, and when the alarm when off
this AM I bounced out of bed all bright eyed and bushied tail.....well that might be a little much but you get my drift. Anyhow, God truly blessed me today with my energy level. Thank you Jesus!

Today I added a new little feature to my blog...did you see it? I added the Amazon wish list. Mainly so when kids or Michael or Mom or anyone says what would you like to have...I can point them right there. One feature that it has that I really like, is you can hide if it has been bought for your birthday or valentines, mother's day, etc. Kinda kewl....that way it stays a surprise. This is one of my wish list. I have another one for my homemaking wants. A girl can never go wrong with books right? I just wish I had more time to read. At the moment, I probably have 10 that I want to get too. All in due time.

Well ladies, tomorrow is another day and I need to scoot, At the moment, I am at peace, my home is clean, my mind is cleaned out of the clutter, and my heart is full. Call me blessed.

God Bless!

P.S. Hope to make some updates to the HomeMaking Blog this weekend. Thanks to those that left me a little note or emailed me. :)

Creating a Prayer Journal

What am I going to blog about today? Prayer Journals.

I think I have decided that since you all know from reading some of my recent post that I have been spending alot of my time reading devotions and books on prayers plus commenting that I worked on a prayer journal over the weekend. Seems like I can't get enough information on praying. (This is something that I have been in prayer for, for a good while) I feel that God has laid this desire on my heart to learn how to create a better avenue of worship with him. Since I pray everyday, several times actually I want a way to track my prayer request and praises and answered prayers ,for a while many years ago I kept a prayer journal in a pretty journal book, and wrote each request that came my way, but after a while I became bored with it, because it didn't inspire me. Is that bad? Anyway, this time I want something that will inspire me to keep it up and use it daily.

So I went on a hunt for something, wasn't sure what until I found it. I found a site that had some wonderful help in getting started.

The top 5 Reasons to Start a Prayer Journal (http://www.squidoo.com/personalized-prayer-journal)

You Need One More Than You Know!

You'll Develop a More Intimate Relationship With God!

Have you ever written a love letter? It is something about putting your feelings down on paper that makes them more real to you. The same is true in your relationship with God. When you take time out to just sit down and focus on Him, the reality of who He is to you expands.Do this on a regular basis, and you will be amazed at how much deeper your connection to the Lord with run.

It Will Revolutionize Your Faith! When you are going through a trial, it is great to have the Word of God there by your side. You can meditate on the countless times God came through for His people. But, having your own book of answered prayers from the Lord can be even better. Your prayer journal can be a ready reminder of God's faithfulness to you when you need it most.

It Makes God's Word Real! Using a prayer journal is an excellent means of
Bible Study. When you journal on the things God reveals to you personally through studying His Word, the letters no longer just sit on the pages. It allows Him to reveal what they mean for you exactly where you are today.

You'll Be More Focused During Your Prayer Time! Have you ever been praying. Next thing you know, you're thinking about today's To Do List or something else totally off topic?Writing your prayers down keeps your brain focused where it needs to be - on spending time with your Heavenly Father.

You'll Create A Legacy of Faith! Over time, your prayer journal will develop into a beautiful love story between you and the Lord. It will hold all of the truths that He reveals to your heart throughout your journey with Him, and His great provision for your family through the years. A legacy of faith - Wouldn't that be something to pass on to future generations!

Short List of Supplies

  • A journal. An actual journal is not a requirement. You may like these free printable prayer journal pages. Or even a simple notebook will do.
  • Sticky Tabs. To separate the various sections of your Prayer Journal.
  • A Favorite Scripture. To refocus your mind on God each time you open your journal.
  • A List of Journal Categories for Your Table of Contents. You'll learn more about that next.
  • An Open Heart to Receive from God. Trust me - He'll show up!

Now For the Fun Part!

Designing A Prayer Journal Just for You

To create your prayer journal, start by taking an honest look at your own relationship with God. What do you need to make it flourish into all that God desires it to be? It may not necessarily be prayer.Do you need more of God's Word? A chance to get to know what He has already said so that you can believe the things He is saying to you today. Then design your journal with an expanded Bible study section. As a jumping off point, you may want to consider using free online Bible study courses and keeping a journal of what God reveals to your heart as you progress through them.Do you need more time alone just sitting in His presence? Then focus your attention on Revelations from God's heart and your own personal Love Letters to Him.Once you have figured out where your journal should focus, pick out a scripture that captures the essence of what your journal will be about. You can either type it up and tape it to the inside or outside of your cover, or write it at the top of the first page of your journal. Then, you will want to create your table of contents page. On your journal's first page (under your scripture if you put it here), list out the sections that you picked for your journal. Put them in the order that you decide the sections with actually go in.Use the sticky tabs to section off the journal into the appropriate number of sections. The size of the sections should vary. They should be a reflection on where you feel your journal should focus spiritually.Write the name of each section at the top of that section's first page. If you want, pick out a scripture related to each of your sections for inspiration whenever you write. Now You Have Your Very Own Personalized Prayer Journal!

If you are planning to create a prayer journal, I hope this article will help you. Check out some of the links that are offered through this article. The free christian journal pages are very nice. I know I will be printing some of them for mine. I also found a Online Bible Study Notebook. This is way KEWL. I wish I had of used this when I was deep in my bible studies over the years. What a wonderful way to keep track of your studies. It is definitely a favorite.

Ok, before I close, I have a prayer request. Could you still remember Michael's mom in your prayers. Michael is flying to Houston in the AM to spend with her and his father. Although this trip is quick and short, I pray that it will be quality time. His mother got her last test results on Monday and they have also found cancer on her lungs. She is going to start chemo tomorrow for the cancer on her lungs and liver, but they have told us they can't do anything for her pancreas. So if you could please remember her, we all would greatly appreciate you lifting her up to our Heavenly Father. Thank you!

Good Night and God Bless!

Happy SONday!

Good Morning Ladies, hope this finds you all having a blessed day. This morning has been quite relaxing for me thus far. I have spent oodles of time this morning, moving things around on my blogs, and getting my homemaking site in order. When I posted it yesterday I had a two column version and that isn't what I wanted so I got it changed to a three column verstion this morning. I like it much better. Now I will have to spend time populating the content for it. I have several things to still add but it will take me some time.

I also have been spending time this morning updating my HMB. What a chore that was, but I feel much better having it done. I worked on my prayer journal section. And removed my grocery/menu/recipe sections because I have added them into my recipe binder. Which I have also been working on this morning. This is huge undertaking because I have collected recipes and cookbooks for 20+ years. So it isn't anywhere near finished. My main goal was to get the prayer journal ready to go.

I'm hoping that this week I can implete some of things that I had hope to start the first of the year but seems like I couldn't get it all together. My brain has been racing with tons of projects that I needed/wanted to do to make my life run smoother. My goal is this will become a lifestyle that I can keep up with regardless of it I am working full-time or staying back at home. I love being at home and making my home a place that the family wants to be. Love going the extra mile for them. And seems like for the last several years, I play catch up. I think Michael is on board with all the changes so that helps.

This week he is heading to Houston on Wednesday to visit with his mom. We are expecting more test results tomorrow, but unless we hear something different than what we have, she only has about six months to live. It is so sad. He wants to go and spend some quality time with her while she still can enjoy the visit. I'm glad he is going, although he is only going to be there through Friday. He doesn't want to stay to long as she will not feel up to him being there that long. It will give his dad some support too. Please keep Betty Sue and Michael's family in your prayers. We can only hope for a miracle at this point.

Michael and I went out on a date last night. He came in the family room yesterday and ask me if I wanted to go on a date. I was like sure, where you want to go...he wanted to go grab dinner and go to the movies. So off we went. We saw "Juno". It was different, the language was rather bad but other than that, it had a good message. If you haven't seen it you can see the review here from the New York Times.
He also did my taxes yesterday. Yeah, glad that is done. I went ahead and filed online which is the way I normally do. The money is usually deposited into my account with 7-10 days. Not bad.
At the moment, he is over making me my favorite....he is making breakfast tacos. They are so yummy. Although I am allergic to eggs, he makes them with egg beaters and they seem to work for me. I always ask him to make extras so that I can have them throughout the week for snacks. I can tell you that my house some 'garlicy' at the moment, but I love it.
My Featured site this week is Christians United. They have some wonderful resources for you. Everything for family fun, to studing the bible, devotions, etc. The bible trivia quiz that I have added to my site( in the right hand column) is from there site. Take a look...maybe you will find something that you would like for your site, or to help you with your walk.
Well ladies, I need to scoot, want to make a small post at my other blog and then spend some time with Michael, not to mention grab a nap sometime this afternoon.
God Bless

New Feature

Welcome back! Another cold day in January, but I'm so grateful for the sunny skies we had today, instead of the dreary blah gray sky, not to mention we didn't get the dicey mix of precipitation that they had predicted. So needless to say even though it was cold, I was happy that it could have been much worse. I know I must bore you all to tears with my weather/snow gratitude stories, but you don't know how grateful I am each morning I look out my window and don't see the "s" word out the window. I think it is beautiful to look at, but with the distance I travel back and forth to work, I don't like driving in it. So each morning it is a praise to God for me.

Did you all know that on the 14th of January was National Desk Day? Well I didn't know that until I was scrolling the internet the other day and it was brought to my attention. Had I known that I would have spent the day cleaning my desk off and getting organized. Actually I did get my desk organized and cleaned off, but it was about a week later. I think that is what I did on MLK day while I had the day off, between working on my new blog layout. Speaking of blog, I am giving some thought to some different things where my blog is concerned. I am in the process of putting together a couple of new blogs with dedication to homemaking and another one to cooking and recipes, etc. I have wanted to do this for quite some time, but wasn't quite sure how I would go about it, but with this method of blogging I think it will turn out to be the best alternative instead of doing everything in HTML . Mainly because of the time involved with HTML. I plan to keep this blog for my everyday blog where I still share my day with you and my favorite places and sites, but I have so many different places I would love to share with you and feature or highlight.

Occasionally I want to highlight a worthy site to you. The first "Featured Site" is Proverbs 31 Ministries. If your like me, I could spend endless hours engrossing myself in the wonderful pages on the internet. Usually in the mornings after I've read my daily bible reading I will sift through some of the sites for something uplifting and encouraging as well as challenging. Today I ran across a wonderful devotion called "Becoming a Patient Woman" . Can't we all use that? I know that is something that I don't pray to often for, because we know when we pray for it, seems like our patience is tried more times than not. Under my Inspirational/Motivational (in the left hand column), there is some unbelievable and great sites there.with some worthwhile reading. These women inspire and motivate me to be the best Cindy I can be. Helping me to become the woman God is calling me to be. If you have a moment check out some of them.

I know I mentioned pictures of Tori's cheer competition, but she off loaded them from her camera and I can't find where she off loaded them too. DUH! So hopefully soon I can share a few little snap shots of her at her last competition. Since the win last weekend, they will be going to regionals in February.

Before I leave, I have a prayer request. When you are doing your prayers could you please remember Michael's mom, Betty Sue in prayer. On Monday we got word that she has pancreatic cancer, but she went back to the doctor today and was told that she has a tumor the size of a tennis ball attached to a blood vessel, very close to her spleen and stomach. They aren't sure yet if it is operable or not. It if is, it could carry a high risk. So I just ask that you remember her in prayer. Thanks!
