Is your home singing?

After a very busy Monday Morning, I am finally taking a break.

Making a home sing I’m a bit late in getting this post up, but thought I would share Making My Home Sing Monday hosted by Nan @ Mom’s the Word

I have spent the morning getting my house back in order after a weekend full of kids, cooking, and football.  Every weekend of Football season, all my kids come home (they all live away from home)either on Friday night or Saturday morning and stay until Monday when they have to go back to work, or leave late on Sunday night. Either way, it gives my house a total workout when they are all here, not to mention, mom, plus usually I they bring a significant other with them.  This weekend, I had kids sprawled out all over my house, in sleeping bags and couches, as well as my kids own rooms….but it was fun.

So this morning, I lit my pumpkin spice candle and filled my sink with hot soapy water, and started washing down my entire kitchen, cleaned my oven (I had a little mishap with a overflowing casserole this weekend), countertops, washed all my glass canisters, and moved some things around.  Then moved onto the floors, which were in dire need of a good mopping,  My major focus was on the kitchen, although the whole house got a quick pick up and dusting, and since there will not be anyone here until again until the weekend, I think I will save the sheets for Wednesday.

So what did you do to make you home sing today?

Hope your having a beautifully blessed day.

Monday Meme

Making a home sing Here is is Monday again and I have a list a mile long today.  I thought today I would join in some fun at “ Making your Home Sing”.  When I found this little meme I knew it was one that I would love.  I am a lover of making my home a warm and cozy place for family and friends. So you ask, what am I going to do today to make my home sing today.

My day consist of doing some floors, all the floors on the main level, need a good mopping….so that is on the agenda today, as well as cleaning down our master bath.  Our weather was scorching this past weekend (102 Friday-Sunday), so hubby and I took lots of showers to just keep cool, so that means towels and a gritty shower.  Exciting stuff huh?

On top of this, I am also going to start working on packing up my craft area in my home. With having the house on the market, I need to have that area less cluttered, so going to pack away some tools, and supplies that I will not and don’t forsee using in the near future.

So I have much to work on today and shouldn’t delay.

Have a blessed Monday!

Gonna be brief

NOTE: Please note my Network Blog over in the right column, if you are on Facebook and would like to get updates from me, please connect with me.

This post is going to be short and sweet today, I didn’t make it here yesterday because I spent the day enjoying my daughter and then I was out the door last night.  So I am finally getting here today, and a beautiful morning it is.  I woke to my coffee in one hand and my bible in the other.  I am enjoying my quiet time so much.  Even before my computer is turned on, I turn on God’s word.  What a refreshing way to start my day.

I have already gotten my floors vacuumed, dishwasher loaded, beds made, and I am sitting amongst piles of magazines that  I need to desperately sort through this morning.  Keep what I want out of them and then discard them.  Hubby will be so happy!  I have way to many magazines.

Hubby finally got all the glue up off the basement floors for the new carpeting.  UGH what a job that was for him.  I am sure we will be sorting through more of our beloved possessions, and discarding some of them too, before the carpet layers show up next week.  We were really hoping to get it done this week so that we could get the basement back together by the weekend, but they didn’t have any openings.  So unless there is a cancelation we will have it installed next week.

Now as promised I will share a few pictures of the basement, these were made back in April and we were in the middle of decluttering, but you can see what we have been up against. (I can’t believe I am showing these pictures.)

The desk area

20100419_117One corner of the basement (stuff that still needs to be packed and moved to storage)

20100419_119Another corner of the basement (stuff that still needs to be packed and moved to storage, or gotten rid of)

20100419_121 The basement looks nothing like this now, hubby painted the walls while I was in Kentucky back to white and the carpet is a off white Berber with a pattern.  When it is completed and everything is back in it’s place I will show you.  Now that all the kids are gone, we don’t use the basement much anymore and it has mainly been our catch all area.  But with the house on the market, we know that families will want to utilize this space so we are making it more family friendly.

Now, for a post that was suppose to be short, I have got a little long winded.  But need to scoot.

Hope you have a very blessed day,

The week is getting away from me

Good giggity Miss Wigity, where has this week gone?  I don’t have a clue.  I didn’t mean to stay away so long but I guess that is what happens when you are doing thangs.  :) And please don’t ask me what because I can’t remember.

I have to tell you ladies, we woke up to the most beautiful weather here this morning, the temps were in the 60’s and just wonderful.  It was a welcomed break from the hot humid days and mornings we have been having.  I know that it is short lived, so I really was grateful and  gave a outside decksweet thanks to Jesus.  Hubby even got outside and watered the lawn early this AM while it was still cool.  I think he was enjoying it too. (The photo to the right is my deck, this shot was taken several years ago, but it is still where I drink in the beauty of the  day.

This morning has been a very productive morning for me, I am getting ready for my upcoming trip to Kentucky.  Let’s see, I have striped the sheets from my bed and washed and dried and put them back on the bed, one load in the dryer and one more in the washer, suitcases are almost packed. Making list of things to NOT forget to take.  So when I am rushing out the door bright and early on Friday morning I am not forgetting anything.   Still have some other inside chores to do today, but thought before I started my afternoon, I would post.

Before I started my morning, I spent some time reading in Proverbs.  I am loving reading through Proverbs on a daily bases.  When you take the time to really read it and soak in all the CSL047 wisdom that is there, it is incredible.  The last two days I have been meditating on a couple of verses that I thought I would share. Taken from the NIV translation.

Proverbs 28:13-

13 He who conceals his sins does not prosper,
but whoever confesses and renounces them finds     mercy.

Proverbs 29: 20 -

20 Do you see a man who speaks in haste?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.

Proverbs 30: 5-6-

5 "Every word of God is flawless;
he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

6 Do not add to his words,
or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

Each one of these verses hold great impact on our daily lives. They give us something to ponder and really think about.  What are your meditating on today?

Well the time has come to go back to my duties, the dryer just peeped as my que to get up and finish my work.

“She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.”
Proverbs 31:17

Hope you have a blessed day, and thanks for stopping by to visit. I love your visits.

Happy June

to everybody.  I can’t seem to believe that we are now into June.  This year is flying by.

I hope that everyone had a blessed Memorial Day weekend, with lots of love of family, friends, and good food, not to mention time spent to reflect on why we have such a holiday.

I would love to tell you that mine was ALL that, when in reality it was a very hard and emotional holiday weekend for me.  You see, on Friday after I made my Memorial Day post, I ended up having to take my family pet of 11 years to the vet, only to have her put to sleep.  (looking for pictures of her so that I can share some with you, but they are on my other computer) .   I spent a great deal of the weekend in tears and heartache.  But I know Mocha is in a better place with no pain.  She is truly missed.  The void in our home is very noticeable.  But with each passing day, I hope the sorrow is replaced with all the loving memories and time shared with her.  She was a sweet soul, and she loved people.  We rescued her from the humane society when she was just 2 weeks old…and she had a great life, for that I am thankful.

Now, I need to move on, as I feel tears welling up in my eyes.

Hubby and I did get to get away for a day  with some friends which was a nice diversion.  Spent some time in Pa, antiquing.  Which is a favorite pastime for us.  I would love to say that we found lots of goodies, but we didn’t.  Not this time.   Seems like I am so cautious when I shop now, because I really don’t know where I am going to end up.  I am so ready to move, so that I can “play” in a new house.  I love setting up my home.  :)

I’ve got alot of things that I really want to work on this week…mainly to keep busy….but they are things I have been putting off for some time, and it’s time to get to them.  Hubby had a productive weekend around the house.  He painted the deck, cleaned out garage and sorted ALL his tools and gave them a home.  Now my car finally fits back in the garage.  Woo Hoo!  So my plan is to spend some quality time this week working on organizing my craft area.  That is going to take some time.  I really don’t have a room or anything, I have a little area in our basement workshop that is allotted for my crafts, and I have way to much for such a tiny space.  I need to come up with some clever organizing helps. Got any ideas?  Also, we still are in the decluttering stage of our basement.  But it is far better than it was.

I am sitting amongst a pile of magazines, pads of paper, and have some major list making to do today…that is how I stay on task.  How do you stay on task?  How do you get everything accomplished in a given day?  I would love to hear your helpful tips.

Well, this is getting my day started, so I am going to scoot for now.  Hope to get around and visit with you all later.

Have a blessed day!

Another look

for me.  I decided I wanted a more spring look for me blog, not sure if I am goinbrwn_nighttimeonlineg to make a header or not.  Can’t really decide.  Guess it will depend on whether I have the time to get one  created.  So what do you think about this look.  I decided to try out the template designer that Blogger has.  Pam did a great tutorial on it the other day, if your interested, take a look at her tutorial.  I found some other great blog templates I would like to play around with so who knows how long this look will last.

This has been a very busy weekend for us.  busycarshopgirlYesterday I was out all day but I got my shoes finally for the wedding….yeah now if I knew what to do with my hair.  Help!  Tori came over on Friday to help me decide, she tried it down and curly, but not sure, still thinking about doing a updo. hairdressersgirl2 To be honest though she and I liked it best when I just threw it up in a claw after all the work we did.  So back to playing around with it this week.

This weekend our weather has turned off cold again, we have had such a great batch of hot days so when it is the norm, we are COLD.  I am so ready for hot weather.  Seems I am always cold.  Spent some time this AM trying on my wedding wardrobe and was praying inprayergril_2 that on wedding day the weather temps will be warm, or I will freeze.

Well today is a day of cookingcookingupastormgirl2 and cleaning laundrygirl2 and laundry.  So guess I should get back at it.

Have a blessed Sunday!

Tuesday

Every leaf speaks bliss to me,
Fluttering from the autumn tree.
Emily Bronte

Food for thought:

woman on phone Do you ever feel like this woman? I know I do…today is one of those days. I feel like I have lots that I should be doing outside the home…but all I really want to do is get myself together. I am feeling like I am in a rut lately, and have to find something that I can do to get out of it. Any ideas? Suggestions appreciated.

My head is swimming with all kinds of thoughts today. I sometimes wonder when I feel this way if I will get anything accomplished. That is when it is essential that I stick to my list. Let’s see how well I do today.

BTW, the baked apples I made last night were so good. I think I baked_apples1would have preferred if I had of added a bit more sugar because the apples I used where a bit tart. But they were awesome. You can find the recipe here. Definitely will be making these again. They were so easy.

Last night, I didn’t do much, Michael got home from work and we watched a little TV. Afterwards he had some things to do, so I sat and listened to College Basketball via the computer. Last night was my favorite teams first game and even though it was a expedition game it was good to hear. But really made me homesick, would have loved to have been there real time. Go Cats!!

bcblogsilove One of things I think I am going to start doing on my blog is scheduling certain days to do certain things. For instance, Monday’s I will share my weekend, Tuesday are for sharing a new site, I think you might enjoy. And so on….So since today is Tuesday, it is a site for inspiration. I love Melissa’s blog at 320*Sycamore. She always shares great home designing inspiration. If you haven’t visited with her before, please do. I am sure you will fall in love with her blog too.

Now I need to get to work on that list….

Have a blessed day!

Movin right along!!!

How ya'll doin? Can you believe that this month is half way over? I'm not sure where the time is going but it is moving, I think the older we get the faster time travels. Before long, instead of getting ahead, I am going to be falling way behind.
So glad Michael got the yard work done last night, because the rain set in this morning. It rained all the way into work on me. Word has it, it isn't suppose to rain all day. We will see. Right now the clouds look grab and drab. Poo! But that makes it a good day to work in the house..huh? So back to my list.
Last night I finally got my main floor cleaned completely up with the exception of a few boxes that we need to move to the garage for storage. They are just to heavy for me to lift alone...but other than that..I finally feel like I can breathe again. I hate when my house is in a state of chaos'. My plans for today are to start on my room upstairs. I have a antique cabinet in there that has all my collection of books (that I want to keep), so I need to box all them up. So we can remove the cabinet from the room. I also have a chest at the foot of my bed that houses bunches of my handbags, so I need to box them up as well. Need to get that chest out of my room. I'm trying to create space as well as have things out of the way for the carpet layers. Basically my room is going to get a good clean.
I think Michael is going to start painting in the foyer. We have a tall foyer (20 ft.) so he is going to freshen that up with a coat a paint and bring it on up the stairs into the hall area. After that...ALL the painting will be done in the house. Woo Hoo! So guess that means we will both be busy tonight.
Any fans of AI? Did you see the show last night? I hated to see Danny go, but was thrilled Kris got to stay. I love him. I know alot of you are big fans of Adam, but I really am tired of him and his attitude. To me, he acts as if he has already won this competition. Did you see the look of the judges faces when Kris name was announced? Unbelievable outcome last night. Guess I will have to make sure that Kris gets my votes again next week.
Need to scoot...my bedroom is calling me. Hope you all have a wonderful evening.
Blessings,
Cindy

Some of what I did this weekend.

Hi ladies,

Thought I would take a little time to tell you that I had very productive weekend, and now it is back to work for another week. I am so grateful for list, or I would never seem to make it. I did get about half of my chores done this weekend that I had on my list. We ( I should say Michael) got the bedroom painted and the ceiling fan hung. All the while I worked on more decorating,I did finally find one of the boxes that was missing. I know there is at least one more, but it isn't a big deal. Mainly the pumpkins which I use to sit around or put on my front porch display. So when I run across them I will finish up.

I also gave the kitchen a good clean last night. Michael in all his sweetness made enchilda's for dinner. Can you say yummy? and leftovers? Anyway, I digress, but after all his hard work in the kitchen I decided to do the clean up. I wiped down all the countertops, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, cleaned out the fridge and did a wipe down, I also put some homemade vegtable soup I made (earlier in the week) in the freezer to have again at a later date, swept and mop the kitchen and family room floor. So felt like alot was accomplished in the kitchen.

Spent some time working on my holiday and prayer journals this weekend too. Needed to do some update. This is the third or fourth year that I have used the HOLIDAY GRAND PLAN and Christmas Countdown so needed to do some updating in those journals. This year I signed up for another little helper. Cara is hosting Holiday Countdown at The Household Helper. Hey with my schedule and anything that can keep me on task I need. Check it out.

Most of you would die if you knew that I have 429 subscriptions (as of this morning) in my google reader. I have them broke down into certain categories. It keeps me from missing out on anything new that is posted by some great bloggers. The ideas, tips, creativity of some of these women are amazing. I also have several blog helps in my reader, and I am loving it. Only problem is, it makes me want to change and update and move things around. But over the next little bit I want to share some of these wonderful finds with you.

Should close for now, will be back soon.
Hugs!

I'm a auntie....

I can't believe it. I finally have a nephew. My sister, who is several years younger than I am, has been trying to adopt for several years.

Caleb She found out the end of August that she was going to become a mother and it was going to happen soon. And it did. Long story, and a bit disturbing but my little nephew Caleb came into the world on September 11, at 11:19 PM, 7 lbs, 9oz, 20 inches long and seems to be perfect even though he had a traumatic entrance into this world. Due to his circumstances he has had to remain in the hospital and be monitored, and initially my sister was told that she would get to bring him home on Monday, gbi_tinys1_95_1 but the doctors came in last night and said he was doing exceptional so they will discharge him today. My sister is so pleased, and can't wait to get her little bundle of joy home. Please keep my sister in your prayers and this is a new venture for her as well as baby Caleb. I just praise God that he has taken care of them through all this.

gbi_tinys1_025_2 Wow, what a productive Saturday I had. I puttered around in the house all morning, just doing the basic picking up and cleaning up. Loads of laundry was washed, dried and folded. Just need to put it away. Michael also worked on framing our bedroom windows, so after he finished those, we moved everything out of our bedroom and cleaned the baseboards, dusted, and vacuumed and then put everything back. With the exception of our bed. We bought a new bed, a big brushed brass bed at a auction last weekend. It looks so nice in there. Once I get the laundry off the bed, I will have to take some pics. I still need to get some new rods for my curtains, but Michael would like to replace those because he isn't crazy about the ones that I have now. I like them, but he doesn't.

gbi_tinys1_girldesk01b I also quite abit of web work to do and now I think I am all caught up...well at least for now, but I realized I really should organize my computer files. It's rather confusing because I use two computers, and so I have to do it double.

Yesterday we watched gbi_tinys1_045_2 Hurricane Ike's damage. All Michael's family live in the suburb of Houston in Friendswood. Other than losing their power they made out fine. Praise God! I am still a bit concerned for his folks though, as his mother is on oxygen and they have enough fuel for several more days to run her oxygen. After that, not sure what will happen.

gbi_tinys1_035_2 Needless to say it was a busy day, gbi_tinys1_66_2couldn't wait to soak in the tub and hit the bed. Just so I could get up and start again today.

Let's see today is going to be full of football. Wesley has several friends coming over and they plan to watch all the games and grill out. Wesley's kind of tailgating.

My chore list for today:

  1. clean kids bath

  2. mow lawn (Michael's doing this)
  3. get garage back in order (Michael made a big mess yesterday while working on the framing)

  4. Read
  5. Nap (girls gotta do what a girl's gotta do)

  6. Finish decorating for fall, several more boxes in the garage

So as you can see, I should get a move on. Hope you have a blessed day.

Philippians 2:1-2“[Imitating Christ's Humility] If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.”

I'm FLYing.....

How ya'll doin? Thought I would take a few minutes and share with you what I was up to last night. I know your just dying to know, right? NOT! As I have stated in my last several post, I have been feeling more motivated and energized in the last week or so, trying to use the time wisely. So glad for my list.

After getting home yesterday from work, I did lay down for a bit, but when I got up I tackled some more laundry. Almost done with it now. Tori is going to finish it up for me today after school. She goes half a day as it is the last day of school. So she is going to be helping me for a little bit.

Michael and I organized the downstairs pantry and it is FULL. I will have to try to get a picture of it. I can't believe how much food is in there. I plan to work on my upstairs pantry this afternoon/evening and then they will be complete. I picked up a label maker this past weekend to label some of the food keepers.Thought this might make it easier to find things. It's amazing how much faster and easier it is to do things when you don't have to battle with "clutter". Half the time it takes to do anything for me is finding what I need. So in my process of organizing I am cleaning out the clutter.

Michael did mow our lawn again. We have had so much rain this spring and early summer. He has really had to stay on it. But he has the yard looking nice. All my perrenials have come back nicely. Very full plants. Maybe this weekend I can get some updated pictures of the yard. I had wanted to dress up my deck so we could enjoy it, but it is just to hot in the evenings to be out there and sit. Not to mention all the bug bites. So think I will put that on the back burner.

On Saturday night we had some really bad storms come through and not so such it wasn't a tornado due to the fact that the house vibrated and the wind force was so strong that it took down part of tree on the side of the house, and took down one in my neighbors yard. We lost power for several hours. Found out later that evening that there were at least three live wires down in town. Anyhow, Michael got the debris loaded to the dump yesterday so that is no longer in our yard.

I am still keeping up with my little nightly rituals that I started several weeks ago and it is making life easier.I make my lunch for the next day and then my kitchen is clean and counters are wiped down, sink is empty (and shiny) of dirty dishes and in dishwasher when I head upstairs to bed. A quick pick up through the house on my way up the stairs, so when I come downstairs in the AM it is nice and tidy and lets me leave home with a great feeling to start my day with. I also get ALL my clothes out the night before and have everything ready when I get up. When I come home from work, no matter how tired I am when I take my clothes off, I put them in the proper place instead of creating a mountain of clothes to sort through on the weekend. Just these few little steps have made things so much easier for me. I also start laundry at night before going to bed and have Michael move it over in the AM and folded in the PM if there is wash that needs to be done, so it isn't piled over the weekend.

I am finding that with this system, it is leaving more free time on the weekend to do some other things without having the guilt of cleaning house. In times past, my weekends consist of one whole day playing catch up. This way, it doesn't take long to accomplish any of the things that need doing. I am sure some things will change next week though, as Tori is moving to her dads for the summer. With just me and Michael at the house, it shouldn't be to big of a mess. Or at least I hope so.

Well, need to get off here. Have a blessed Tuesday!

Hugs!

Productive weekend

Howdy girlies, taking a few minutes to say hi. Hope you all had a great weekend. We did, albeit it was hot. Both days it was high 90's with a heat index of 105 or so. Not pleasant weather if you have to be outside for extended periods of time.

This weekend, I spend much time working in the house and getting things in order. Still working off my list, but making progress which is a great feeling. A few things I accomplished this weekend was, mounds of laundry (from being stored, etc) and replaced winter clothes for summery ones. Organized clothes and shoes in closet. I have 4 huge black garbage bags for goodwill. Reboxed the winter stuff to put away. At the same time I am working on mine, Tori is working on hers. Fortunately the house didn't need alot of attention as I had stayed up on it all week. Woo Hoo! Plus made dinners most nights. (*BG=big grin). The closet organization is something that I had been putting off, because I knew Michael was going to need room for his stuff to be moved in and my closet was a mess, put I had to make room in the dresser and armoire for some of his things. Since we got married, he has been using the portable closet in the basement. Which means he would shower on the third floor and run to the basement to change into his clothes. :) Funny!!! So once Michael gets his things moved upstairs we will be done with that little chore until the winter months.

I also had time to create a menu for the remainder of the month (can you believe a whole month of menus), and make out a grocery list. Michael and I went shopping yesterday and $324.00 later, we walked out of the store. But that should do it for food with the occasional stops for milk, bread, etc. I stock piled on some things that were on sale as well. I have a large pantry in my basement, which needs to be organized too...another project, but most of the stuff we got yesterday will go in there...but for now, the bags are sitting on my table, because I am going to clean out that pantry before putting anything else in there. Trying to do this methodically.

Believe it or not, this took most of my weekend. Can I say I was sore and tired when it was over. But feel good about the progress that was made. This is my second week of bringing my lunch to work too, so made myself a turkey sandwich on wheat, with loads for fresh fruit to snack on all day. And lets don't forget the water. LOTS of water. I know that I need to incorporate some exercise to my life...have been thinking about joining Curves as there is one in my hometown. Does anyone have any experience with them? Good or bad! Will let you know if I decide to do this. Just want to bite off more than I can chew...which I tend to do at times when things seem to be going relatively well. A major fault of mine.

Guess I will post this. Hope you all have a blessed Monday!

Hugs!

Racing thoughts

Good Morning Ladies, just wanted to drop in here and do a little update, before I get to far along in my day. I am sitting here in a quiet house and the weather is simply gorgeous outside. The birds are singing and it is the first real tease of Spring. Oh was a wonderful gift it was this morning to be home and get to enjoy it. Today I am feeling on top of the world. Life is busy but oh so good. Praise God. He is so good to me.

As some of you know from reading my last post (reading Wedding Plans) the wheels are in motion. Michael and I have lots to do before the big day. I have been blessed with lots of friends back home and my mothers church that said they would do whatever needs to be done so that I don't have to worry about getting everything done long distance. What a true blessing this will be.

Michael and I are heading to Houston on the 29th of February for a couple of days and then on the way back we will stop in Russellville (fly into Nashville) to make some arrangements and speak with the florist, caterer, and pastor, as well as the cake decorator. So it will be busy why I am there. I will also take along a list of things for the women at the church that intend to help my mom. I never dreamed I could be this excited or happy again about a wedding, but God is putting everything in place. So I am simply trying to enjoy the journey. At this point because of work restrictions, we most likely will not do a honeymoon at this time, but later in the summer, we may try to take a cruise or vacation. This is fine with me because our main goal is to have this wedding before his mom can no longer travel. Bless her heart. Not only does she have our wedding to attend but two grandchildren that are graduating from college and she wants to attend thier graduations during this whole time frame. We feel that as long as she has things to look forward too, this may be the best medicine for her. She is a remarkable woman.

Today is going to be full of getting my house together and ready for a new full week of activity. I spent the morning cleaning my kitchen (again) and hitting all the hotspots in the family room. The house is picked up and cleaned and so I am going to work on a few of the things I had listed for my Household Managemet book. I am going to also download something that I found online yesterday. Which is going to be the site I am going to feature this week. (excert below taken from the site)

e-Sword is a fast and effective way to study the Bible. e-Sword is feature rich and user friendly with more capabilities than you would expect in a free software package. The fact that e-Sword is free is just one of the blessings and does not speak of the quality of the software. I make my living writing software and I believe I have put forth my best effort in this endeavor. The real work, however, was put in by the godly men and women who devoted countless years creating the texts that have been made available for our benefit.

So if you are interested in this download follow this link and find the download here.

Also one of thing I did accomplish this weekend was, I posted my cooking blog. It is no where near finished but you can find the link under personal sites in the left hand column. I hope you will drop by and leave me a little note.

K...ladies, as you can see, I got lots to do, so going to get at it. Thanks for all your well wishes. Hope you have a blessed day. Love you all.

Wedding plans

Hi Ladies, as you can see from the woman at the left she is relaxing in a nice hot bubble bath. Well that was me just a few minutes ago. This has been one busy week for me and hoping that this weekend will be one of productivity. I have lots I want to accomplish but not sure how far I will get. As Michael and I have lots on our plates at the moment.

First things first, I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines Day. Mine was very nice, albeit Michael and I didn't get to really spend alot of quality time together we did manage to grab some Chinese food before heading to Tori's cheer competition. He also surprised me with a beautiful carat diamond heart necklace. It is full of baguettes and single stones. It just shimmers and glitters know matter which was you look at it. I was shocked. It is the most beautiful heart necklace I have ever seen. He felt bad, because he wanted to get me my engagement ring (I have a ring he gave me when he proposed, but he said it wasn't my real engagement ring)...which we have been looking at for awhile, a marquise, but just before he got it, he was called by his mother and she asked him if I would like to have her diamond set. As you all know she has terminal cancer and she has started dispersing her things. Can you say honored? I was in total shock as it is a gorgeous ring. So my engagement ring will be a band of diamonds that have been taken out of various jewelry that Michael's dad has given her over the years and put into one ring, with a big stone in the middle. Can't really describe it, it is very different. But I am so honored that she wanted me to have it. So now Michael and I need to get wedding bands that will compliment this ring. Because of his mom's health we decided we needed to get this wedding in motion so that she will still be able to travel and be there. This is something that is so important to us.

As most of you know, we are getting married, and we were planning on a wedding possibly in late spring, early summer, but with his moms health, everything is getting pushed up. As it looks now, it will most likely April 12th. He and I are taking a trip to Texas and Kentucky in two weeks just to check out venues, but I have the church in my hometown on reserve and have a paster that will perform it. But as much as I would like to get married there, it will be alot of work to do it long distance. Therefore we want to check out some venues in Nashville that will basically do everything. We want something simple but yet elegant. We are starting to put all the details together, but one of my main concerns now, is finding the perfect dress. I want something simple, but elegant as well. Looking for ivory or champagne color. But it is so hard to find. So guess I need to start hitting the bridal shops. So that is what I know for now, and will keep you up to date as things happen. The next six or eight weeks are going to be busy busy.

This morning has been a busy one for me...I have already unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, put dishes away and wiped down the stove, also cleaned down all the kitchen counters and cleaned up the clutter on the ground floor and my bedroom. Laundry has been sorted and ready for washing. Michael went through all the hotspots on the tables of mounds of mail and trashed most of it. I also got the kitchen and family room floors sweeped and mopped. Now the rugs need to be vacuumed. So basically all the general cleaning has been done, and it now gives me time to work on some projects that I have listed that need to be done over the course of the next three days. Looking forward to this extra day off this weekend. I want to spend time with my blogs and new cooking blog this weekend, as well as more time with my Household Management Binder and Prayer Journal.

I am going to try to get around to visit with all my buddies this weekend too. Just haven't had much online computer time this week, so hope to make up for that this weekend.

Hope you all are having a great weekend.
God Bless!
