Today I am thankful for so many things. God has been truly good and gracious with me. Moreso than I ever deserve.
I’m a firm believer that one should have gratitude in his heart and be truly happy with what he has been blessed with. Lately I have been feeling a bit “tattered” and through my bleak times I was finding it hard to be thankful. Although I knew in my head I had much to be thankful for I just didn’t feel it in my heart. But no today…..Today I am thankful that my “thankfulness is back”.
I’m thankful that I am getting to go visit my family in Kentucky for a few days.
Thankful I will be there when my sister’s son’s adoption goes through on Tuesday. Praise God!
If you would like to participate in Thankful Thursday join us this month at “Spiritually Unequal Marriage”
Have a blessed rest of week.
Hugs,

ReplyDeleteHi Cindy!
ReplyDeleteI'm Wendy from Faith's Firm Foundation. You visited my BlogFrog community, and I'm so glad you did, so I could find you!
I've read these last few posts, and I'm thankful with you that "thankfulness is back". I know, for me, that it can be up and down as far as emotions go, but my desire is that my faith and the way I live remains steady, firm and even-keeled, because it's based on the Rock of my salvation, Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, today and forever.
You are getting an amazing amount of things done, it seems, after going through a depressed time which leads me to wonder if you have checked out the possibility of manic-depressive symptoms. This is not something I think I have, but the manic cycle is characterized I guess by extreme "doing". I have a friend in Singapore who's a wonderful Christian blogger friend that anyone would benefit by reading, but especially someone who occasionally is down/depressed, (like me). Her sweet, gracious spirit just exudes through her writing. Her name's Nancie and her site is "More Than Conquerors" at lifewithbipolardisorder.blogspot.com
(bipolar disorder is the technical name for the manic-depressive episodes which characterize the person's life.) She has wonderful resources and explanations, tips, etc.
She always testifies to God's grace and mercy towards her as she seeks to understand, cope and be "more than conquerors" through the ups and downs.
I really enjoyed reading your blog, and your writing on the sidebar is wonderful. Life is in the details, truly. I bought a plaque once which is so true. It says, "Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans."
But, in a positive sense, taking time to notice the beauty in a flower, or the fluffy clouds floating by on a beautiful summer day, to enjoy a hug from a child, or a conversation with my grown children, or feel God's presence as I read Proverbs--all of these details are so precious. God is good and is blessing us everyday in so many ways, if we'll only have eyes to see.
Thanks for your visit! I hope you'll come back often.
Blessings,
Wendy
