Been spending time

daydreaming, not that I have alot of time to do that these days.  But non the less, I have been daydreaming.  Daydreaming about a new house, new community ( country) to live in,living in the country and  thinking about what I want to do with the next phase of my life.

Here are just a few of the things I am daydreaming about….

Buying a new (old) house

I love the big porch on this house, perfect for that porch swing and rockers.

To me this is a classic charming old country home.  I’m in love with the picket fence and the flowerbeds….and ooh la la to that stone walkway.

Living up here in Maryland so close to the all the old federal style homes, I have a great love for them too.  This one is dear.

I can picture this one out of a farm with lots of land and barns….I can still see that porch swing and rockers ya’ll. Two fireplaces.  Yummy!

My heart longs to have a place like this.

Decorating my old farmhouse with flowerbeds

One thing I know is it will have to have lots of color and texture.

As well as some of my favorites, like the cone flowers and daisies

as well as flowers nestled against a white picket fence.  SOMEWHERE!

surrounded by lots more coneflowers and blackeyed susans

Can you say lavender?   Lots of Lavender

How cute would this be in the yard.  Fun and whimsical, blasted with color.

Not to mention the wonderful scent of peonies when they adorn the table.  Simple beautiful!

But then I have to remember this…..

“Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” (Philippians 4:11-12 NKJV)

So I guess it is back to reality….what do you daydream about?

Hope your having blessed day!

Sharing my spring blooms

with all.  If you have been out in blogland then you know everyone is showing off all their spring blooms, although I don’t have many I do have several things growing in my yard.

My Zinna’s are starting to poke through the dirt

I usually don’t have any luck growing things this way, but decided to give it a try again this year.

Will start in the front yard, here you can see the front flowerbed.  Michael just got all the black mulch in this past weekend.

My blackeyed Susan’s still have a way to go. This is just one bunch that we have but I probably have 8 or 10 bunches in the yard.

Well this gave you a taste of what is blooming in my yard.  My wildflower garden just got planted(it’s in that little fenced area beyond the tree next to my potting shed) hoping for a full array of color when they come in.  Plus I don’t have my herb garden completely done yet, but when I do, I will try to remember to snag some photos for you. Once the Blackeyed Susan’s and Daisy’s are up it will be really colorful back there.

'For behold, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone.
'The flowers have already appeared in the land;
The time has arrived for pruning the vines,
And the voice of the turtledove has been heard in our land.
'The fig tree has ripened its figs,
And the vines in blossom have given forth their fragrance.
Arise, my darling, my beautiful one,
And come along!' "
Song 2:11-13

Bloom where your planted

Happy Monday Morning

Well we are off to another week….getting a bit closer to the big day around here.  Yesterday I had the opportunity to sit with my son and just share some time together.  Granted alot of it was talking wedding, and finalizing the lists (we have lots of them). But one thing that I have to do this week is contact the restaurant for the rehearsal dinner.  They needed the final head count a week before, so my son had to go over that list to make sure every name was on it that needed to be.  My mind is so crammed full of “wedding jumble” that I am scared I am going to forget something.  Tonight is my future DIL bachelorette party, sue to her work schedule (she has a really strange schedule) it is being done tonight.  My son’s bachelor party is going to be Saturday night.  Yikes, guess that means it is getting close huh? Family will start arriving here next Wednesday.  Quite honestly, it will be a good thing for me when my mom arrives because I know I will slow down a bit and she will help keep me calm.  :)

So many things I would like to get accomplished this week, just hope I can stay on task.  Last week, I fell short.  I can’t seem to stay focused.  I really don’t like when I get that way.  Thinking I need to just slow down and bit and get my priorities back in check.  One minute my mind is fluttering with the house and the sale of, and then the wedding, projects that still need to be done for instance, we are going to paint and recarpet the basement.  Yeah, you heard me right (call us crazy)….plus we are getting ready to put a new roof on the house.  Still have estimates out but they should be hopefully all be in today so we can make a decision. The weather for the next ten days isn’t great with lots of rain in the forecast, and our goal was to have the roof on before the wedding.  They seem to think they can get the job done in one day so my prayer is that we can get it done before then, if not, it will be after May 1.

As you have read from my past post, our weather has turned cold again.  Actually not cold, cold, because it is the average temperatures for this time of year, but because we have been having such warm to hot days, it has thrown me for a loop.  Tons I want to do outside, but can’t stand the cold or the wind…so I’ve limited myself to the inside of the house.  Hubby has the yard looking so good.  Yesterday in the blustery cold air, he mulched ALL the flowerbeds, and put out new flowers as well as mowed the lawn.  It was a all day venture.  The yard looks great, but of course, I felt guilty for not helping him.  Our weather forecast for the next ten days don’t look all that great either. So not sure how much time I will actually be outside.  Good thing I didn’t put the turtlenecks and sweat shirts away yet.

I’ve fallen behind too on working on my bible study.  Each time I sit down to do it, my mind wonders.  I MUST try to get through it today or tomorrow.  Normally I have been ahead of the game on this, but not this past week.

Guess that is enough out of me for today, two post in one day, that is a first in awhile. I hope you will take a look at the vblog I posted below this. This video really touched my heart as this is been my life’s goal.  Speaking of goal’s, what is your life goal?

Be blessed!

I’m on a roll

and I am tired.  So much has got to get done today. We have a viewing for your house today.  I’m a bit scared, not sure why though, guess mainly because the house isn’t where I would want it to be.  So many little nit picky things that still have to be done as well as cleaning out our garage. Yesterday was spent all day outside.  There just isn’t enough hours in the day.

We took tree limbs from our yard as well as a neighbors  to the dump and stopped and picked up flowers for planting and mulch, Michael tilled our vegetable garden, mowed and edged the yard, and all kinds of other little jobs that needed attention outside.  We didn’t come inside last night until around 8 o’clock.  Talk about beat tired.  After showers we both just planted ourselves on the sofa and watched a movie.  I could barely keep my eyes open….I headed upstairs to bed to read and needless to say I didn’t get very far in my book and I was gone.  So gone to the world that I didn’t realize until this morning that Michael never came to bed.  He fell asleep in his comfy chair.

This morning, I have got floors to vacuum, and mop, our bathroom to clean (it’s the only one that really gets used since the kids have moved out) and some other small jobs, Living room windows to clean, all the rest were done last weekend, but  I’m so sore from all the bending and stooping yesterday. Give me drugs!!!  LOL   Hoping to get through the morning and the house visit.

This afternoon, my daughter will be coming over to cut and highlight my hair for my son’s wedding.  I can’t believe it is less that three weeks away.  Family will start arriving mid week the week of the wedding, so between now and then, LOTS still have to be done.  Still have to find shoes!!!

So as you can see life is in full swing here.  Just wanted to say hello and wish you all a great SONDAY!

Hugs,

Cin Sig
