Need I say more!
Can you guess what I will be doing today? And it hasn’t stopped yet.
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" 2 Corinthians 12:9
Woo Hoo! Cathy at The Stylish House is have a awesome wonderful giveaway. She is giving a lucky blogger several chances to win a $200.00 Pottery Barn gift card. Her contest is running from Feb 4th-10th.
Stop in and take a look around at her blog. It’s lovely. She is sure to inspire you with her beautiful home.
Most are like me and spend way to much time during the week reading everyone's blogs'. But there are so many talented and creative women out there to learn from. Here are a few post that I really liked this week. Either for their creative talent with DIY’s or for their wonderful usable tips.
Melissa over at 320 Sycamore had some great ideas regarding to moving. She called this her Moving System. Great ideas and helpful tips for your next upcoming move. I will have to implement some of these if not all in my upcoming move this year. She shows us how to keep things together so that finding “our stuff” is easier to find after the move. Great tips Melissa!
Nester shared a wonderful post about preserving some memories. If you missed it, check it out. I love this idea.
I actually went out this week and picked up some embellishments that I would like to use with some photos and my children’s work. If your like me I have folders full of things my children created when they were small, because I couldn’t part with them. Now I am glad I did. Guess now, I need to find that box of goodies, so that I can “show off” their work.
Jennifer at Balance and Bedlam had a wonderful post about DIY pedestal cake plates. How to create your own from odd and ends pieces that you pick up. Mismatched pieces that are lovely can still be used. Another project for me in the near future. Goodwill and yard sales are great places to find “unloved” pieces.
Shelley at How Does She made the cutest Dipped Oreo Cookies and there is a great
tutorial. Gotta definitely try this…the possibilities are endless. This was a post she did before the holidays, but could easily be done for Valentines day. The tutorial is easy peasy.
Plus she has some cute Valentine treat ideas that she has
gathered from across the web. Of course, I have these bookmarked.
LeAnne at Organize and Decorate Everything has a wonderful post on Conquering Magazine clutter. If your like me, you have magazines and lots of them. Hop over and see how she corrals them.
She has a wonderful site with lots of great ideas and tips on controlling clutter.
Guess I should scoot, got quite a bit to do today before the snow storm hits, but hoping I will get a chance to tackle some of my things on my “to do” list. Might be a good weekend for working on reorganizing and crafting.
Have a blessed Friday!
I don’t usually post my tablescapes because they aren’t nearly as elaborate as the ones posted at Between Naps on the Porch, but decided I would today.
I am using my dessert holder as my centerpiece (a yard sale find). I placed my antique milk glass dessert plates (a yard sale find)and place candles on each plate, one surrounded by soft pinks and reds antique Christmas balls (another yard sale find)and another candle surrounded by a chocolate strawberry and heart candle ring. {Heart} it and I got it at a yard sale too.
I also topped one plate with a antique wedding cake topper. Okay, really it is the cake topper from my first wedding over 25 years ago, but I love it and cake toppers in general. Hence another collection is starting.
I found this little silver dish at Goodwill for 1 buck and toss some strawberries in the dish and added my cloche to finish it off.
Scattered on the table you will find pieces of my pink depression glass (yard sale finds) that I use as serving dishes.
This is a little shot of my hutch decked out with white lights and soft pink floral springs, simple but oh so pretty.
After writing most of this I realize that if it weren’t for Yard Sales, I wouldn’t have this table. Not to mention the White linen tablecloth and soft pink napkins are all from yard sales. Wow!
Forgive the photography, I’m not to good behind the camera, but you get the idea.
If you want to see some wonderful great Tablescapes, hop on over to Susan’s Thursday Tablescape party. You’ll be glad you did.
getting better organized. This is a basic need in January/February for me to get myself on the right track for the new year. How bout you? Why is it we all want a fresh start at the beginning of the new year? I wanted to share some photos that I have collected over time as incentive to motivate me. Take a little peek… (not sure where I found most of these. Thought I did better at organizing them). Guess that is something I should WORK on. Here we will focus on the kitchen….
I really like the look of this “pot” cabinet, especially the place to keep cookie sheets and lids, these are my two biggest problem areas in my “pot” cabinet. How bout you? Do you have a trick to try to get better organized?
Spices in the drawer. I like this idea.
Silverware
what about a cabinet that you can use vertically. Love the idea of cutting boards and platters.
A wonderful idea is to incorporate a piece of furniture to house your dishes…for easy access
I love this pantry.
Okay, these are a few of the ideas that I ran across that I need to see if I can implement into my kitchen and pantry.
Do you have some great tips and ideas too? if so, let me know. I need all the help I can get.
Blogger Labels: incentive,WORK,cabinet,Love, furniture, dishes, pantry, ideas, tips, photos, platters, kitchen I promised a to show you what I did with this little silver dish, that I picked up at the Goodwill yesterday for one dollar. Yep! {heart } it. I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw it. (I have been scouring shops for some little silver pieces, nothing big, just small pieces that I can use here and there and doesn’t take up lots a room) Not sure about you, but I don’t have much more room for storage unless I really PURGE hard.
Basically I just added a few strawberries like this….
And came up with some more eye candy for my Valentine Tablescape.
So there you have my simple little project, nothing fancy, simple to do.
Hugs,
Another winter wonderland.
Another shot to the left in my yard, looking into the neighbors yard
Big pine tree in the front side yard. Love this tree and it’s especially pretty with snow laying in the branches.
Another shot of the tree, what do you think?
So with this going on outside, wonder what will be going on on the inside today. Looks like a great day to stay home and get some crafts done.
Now I know I said I would show you a little project that I did with my little silver dish…will be back later to show you.
Have a blessed and warm Wednesday.
