A Bowlful of Cherries, or the pits
So much has been going on in my head and in real life that I don't know where to start.
Yesterday I had to go back to the eye doctor to have my eyes checked. It has been five months since I have had my lasik surgery and although my eyes did well, my right eye didn't do as well as it could have. Apparently it is seeing about 70% of the way it should, so they have scheduled me for a enhancement on that eye next monday. I knew upfront this was a possibility, but had to wait until my eyes were completely stable before they could go in and do another procedure. Basically I will be having the same procedure as the first time but they will be making a slight change. Please pray that it will go well and that when it is over, the procedure will have been successful. Thanks!
I mentioned in a earlier post that I am moving my blog to a new web address soon, actually will most likely be this weekend. For the same reason I am wanting to move it, I am thinking I will do away with my website, Cindy's Cozy Corner. It sits on a domain that was my former name and quite honestly don't want to keep using it. As well as my email addresses. Most likely will be changing that too. Although I loved having my website, I have neglected it alot in recent months, even years. I don't have the time to devote to it. Plus I pay for that service. The only sad thing is I have tons of wonderful graphics that I would love to use...but don't have the time. So do I or don't I?
I have added another little goal for myself...I am trying to lose some weight. When I went to the doctor a few weeks back that was the final straw. I tipped the scales weighing more than I have ever weighed without being pregnant. I know that it comes from eating out, and unhealthy eating habits...so decided I want to shed a few pounds so that I feel better about myself. Starting to dislike how I feel in my clothes. Since starting this I have lost about five pounds. I am packing my lunch and bringing that to work, drinking lots of water, and eating lots and lots of fruit and veggies. I try to have a sensible dinner and watching my serving sizes. Basically I am trying to make better choices. Now I need to add exercising, but having done so yet. I am sure that will come with time. One step at a time for me.
Is is me or what, this past weekend, actually maybe this last week, I have felt kind of out of sorts. I have felt really disconnected. I can't put my fingers on it exactly. I know that my routine at work has been different so not sure if that is what is throwing me off or what. But I hate this feeling. Seems like I was at such peace for awhile and now everything is in a chaotic state. It really isn't, just feels that way. I have to remind myself that feelings are just that. They aren't what is really happening. But why? I think for me it is spirital related. I have been saturating myself in reading my bible and other biblical readings and asking God to continue to work in me and help me grow, and I am thinking that these are 'growing pains'. Which if they are, I failed a test miserably last night with my daughter. I so desire to be the woman God created me to be. I do want to be the wife, mother and friend that I know he would want me to be....but have been feeling that I haven't really been doing those jobs that well either. I keep
wondering what God is trying to show/tell me. Sometimes I have to have neon sign that tells me. Please pray for me.
Should really scoot, want to try to make a post or two at my homemaking site and cooking site.
A place I found a while back and visited again the other day I am going to make as my featured site: Warm Pie Happy Home, RuthAnn has a wonderful way of telling a story. A california girl who moved to the Ozarks. Great read!
Hugs and Blessings,
Me

Its that time again
Time to start thinking about my upcoming week. This has been a busy weekend it seems but I couldn't tell you what we have done. I just know that I am tired. I am going to grab my book and take a little rest here in a few minutes before thinking about dinner. Tonight was suppose to be roast but didn't lay it out of the freezer. I decided we have things in the fridge that we need to eat up, and since it's just Michael and Tori and I, not going to make a big deal about it.
Did you all do anything fun for Father's Day? I called my dad this morning and wished him Happy Fathers Day and he was still in bed. I couldn't believe that. We had a nice little chat, and I told him that his fathers day present wasn't going to come to the house, it was waiting for him at the golf course. His next three games are on us. So he seemed pleased with that.
I have time today doing wash, didn't have alot to do. Just a couple of small loads, so that didn't take a long time. Michael went outside and has sorting through things in my potting shed. Believe me it needed it. We both have been on this cleaning kick lately. Don't get me started.
I picked me up two new books last night. I started "A Sister's Secret" and I know I will enjoy it.
From Amazon:
From Publishers Weekly
This first installment in the Sisters of Holmes County series is more of the same for Brunstetter, who has more than a million of her Amish-themed novels in print. Grace Hostettler is settling down to a conventional Amish life and marriage to a kind young man in her community. But when a stranger from her past shows up, she's forced to acknowledge the "English" life and family she left behind during her rowdy adolescent rumschpringe period. Will her new husband accept her when the secret of her past comes tumbling out? Unfortunately, technical problems mar this novel about second chances. Grace is a weak and uninteresting protagonist who is more an observer of the action than its leading lady. While Brunstetter's fans will no doubt appreciate the novel's loving—even hagiographic—portrait of the Amish, the Amish characters' dialogue often feels stilted and unnatural, impeded rather than enhanced by awkward sprinklings of Pennsylvania Dutch. Stock English characters, such as an intrusive reporter and an aggressive developer who wants to buy up Amish land, add little to the story. (July)
Product Description
Grace is the oldest sister in the Hostettler family. Having put her rumschpringe (running around years) behind her, she has returned to Holmes County, joined the Amish church, and begun a new life. For the past four years, everything has been going fairly well, until the day she sees an English man who knows enough of her past to jeopardize her future. Will Gary Walker's passion for Grace destroy more than one life? Amish man Cleon Schrock is planning to marry Grace, but ignorant of her past. Will love and faith triumph over shame and deception in Holmes County?

I'm FLYing.....
How ya'll doin? Thought I would take a few minutes and share with you what I was up to last night. I know your just dying to know, right? NOT! As I have stated in my last several post, I have been feeling more motivated and energized in the last week or so, trying to use the time wisely. So glad for my list. After getting home yesterday from work, I did lay down for a bit, but when I got up I tackled some more laundry. Almost done with it now. Tori is going to finish it up for me today after school. She goes half a day as it is the last day of school. So she is going to be helping me for a little bit.
Michael and I organized the downstairs pantry and it is FULL. I will have to try to get a picture of it. I can't believe how much food is in there. I plan to work on my upstairs pantry this afternoon/evening
and then they will be complete. I picked up a label maker this past weekend to label some of the food keepers.Thought this might make it easier to find things. It's amazing how much faster and easier it is to do things when you don't have to battle with "clutter". Half the time it takes to do anything for me is finding what I need. So in my process of organizing I am cleaning out the clutter.Michael did mow our lawn again. We have had so much rain this spring and early summer. He has really had to stay on it. But he has the yard looking nice. All my perrenials have come back nicely. Very full plants. Maybe this weekend I can get some updated pictures of the yard. I had wanted to dress up my deck so we could enjoy it, but it is just to hot in the evenings to be out there and sit. Not to mention all the bug bites. So think I will put that on the back burner.
On Saturday night we had some really bad storms come through and not so such it wasn't a tornado due to the fact that the house vibrated and the wind force was so strong that it took down part of tree on the side of the house, and took down one in my neighbors yard. We lost power for several hours. Found out later that evening that there were at least three live wires down in town. Anyhow, Michael got the debris loaded to the dump yesterday so that is no longer in our yard.
I am still keeping up with my little nightly rituals that I started several weeks ago and it is making life easier.I make my lunch for the next day and then my kitchen is clean and counters are wiped down, sink is empty (and shiny) of dirty dishes and in dishwasher when I head upstairs to bed. A quick pick up through the house on my way up the stairs, so when I come downstairs in the AM it is nice and tidy and lets me leave home with a great feeling to start my day with. I also get ALL my clothes out the night before and have everything ready when I get up. When I come home from work, no matter how tired I am when I take my clothes off, I put them in the proper place instead of creating a mountain of clothes to sort through on the weekend. Just these few little steps have made things so much easier for me. I also start laundry at night before going to bed and have Michael move it over in the AM and folded in the PM if there is wash that needs to be done, so it isn't piled over the weekend.I am finding that with this system, it is leaving more free time on the weekend to do some other things without having the guilt of cleaning house. In times past, my weekends consist of one whole day playing catch up. This way, it doesn't take long to accomplish any of the things that need doing. I am sure some things will change next week though, as Tori is moving to her dads for the summer. With just me and Michael at the house, it shouldn't be to big of a mess. Or at least I hope so.
Well, need to get off here. Have a blessed Tuesday!

Productive weekend
This weekend, I spend much time working in the house and getting things in order. Still working off my list, but making progress which is a great feeling. A few things I accomplished this weekend was, mounds of laundry (from being stored, etc) and replaced winter clothes for summery ones. Organized clothes and shoes in closet. I have 4 huge black garbage bags for goodwill. Reboxed the winter stuff to put away. At the same time I am working on mine, Tori is working on hers. Fortunately the house didn't need alot of attention as I had stayed up on it all week. Woo Hoo! Plus made dinners most nights. (*BG=big grin). The closet organization is something that I had been putting off, because I knew Michael was going to need room for his stuff to be moved in and my closet was a mess, put I had to make room in the dresser and armoire for some of his things. Since we got married, he has been using the portable closet in the basement. Which means he would shower on the third floor and run to the basement to change into his clothes. :) Funny!!! So once Michael gets his things moved upstairs we will be done with that little chore until the winter months.
I also had time to create a menu for the remainder of the month (can you believe a whole month of menus), and make out a grocery list. Michael and I went shopping yesterday and $324.00 later, we walked out of the store. But that should do it for food with the occasional stops for milk, bread, etc. I stock piled on some things that were on sale as well. I have a large pantry in my basement, which needs to be organized too...another project, but most of the stuff we got yesterday will go in there...but for now, the bags are sitting on my table, because I am going to clean out that pantry before putting anything else in there. Trying to do this methodically.
Believe it or not, this took most of my weekend. Can I say I was sore and tired when it was over. But feel good about the progress that was made. This is my second week of bringing my lunch to work too, so made myself a turkey sandwich on wheat, with loads for fresh fruit to snack on all day. And lets don't forget the water. LOTS of water. I know that I need to incorporate some exercise to my life...have been thinking about joining Curves as there is one in my hometown. Does anyone have any experience with them? Good or bad! Will let you know if I decide to do this. Just want to bite off more than I can chew...which I tend to do at times when things seem to be going relatively well. A major fault of mine.
Guess I will post this. Hope you all have a blessed Monday!
Hugs!

Feeling Motivated
Hi dear friends, I have a few moments while I am siting here waiting for our dinner to finish. This morning Michael put some chicken and rice in the crockpot so the biggest portion of dinner is done. (Decided I need to use this more often) I have it on now and it smells so good. I have made it my little mission this week to make sure I planned a dinner/menu.
This has been a busy week but it has been a good one. I feel much better this week than I have lately. I have been consumed with overwhelming guilt because of the way things in the house have been running....but I feel like I have a much better handle on them this week.
I have incorporated the menu's and daily clean up as well as getting myself prepared the night before for work. Those little things have made a big difference. In the past I have done those things before, but because I am always so tired...I just let things go during the workweek. Mainly because of my energy level....but several weeks ago I started taking some supplements and it's amazing how much better I feel. Plus I am taking my lunch to work again and eating healthier. Ever had the feeling of being sick and tired of being sick and tired. That is where I was and had been for years. When I spoke to my doctor about it, they would tell me nothing was wrong. All my blood work always came back fine, etc....but it still didn't help that all I wanted to do was sleep. I wasn't feeling depressed, just tired. I just had no energy level. YILCH! I just hope that my energy level continues to go up.
I am using this free site to track my food. It is incredible. Check it out, I am just trying to track my food, activities, calories. It's unbelievable and FREE!
Well dinner is calling, so going to close for now...try and stay cool and will drop around to visit soon.
Hugs!
PS. Thanks to everyone that left me a little tip last post. Your great!

Taking a little break
at the moment. I am knee deep in cleaning and this is a much needed break. I can't believe I haven't posted in over a week. Here it is June already. Time seems to be just flying by. I have been battling a overwhelming sense of guilt. Guilt that I have gotten half the things accomplished that I have wanted to have done by this time of the year. I am still struggling with the need to get myself better organized. I am working on it, but I guess my expectations are just too high. I don't know how women do it and work full time and have a family. I am going to implement some tools this week and see if things go better. Although I will admit that I have been terrible about getting menus done so that we can have a balanced meal in the evenings. Which is one thing that truly bothers me. But if any of you have any ideas, so that I don't feel like my weekend is constantly playing catch up, I would greatly appreciate it. Please give me some tips!!!! :)
Let's see, on my list still for today is continue with the laundry, grocery shop, clip coupons, make a menu, and a 15 minute job chore chart, just to name a few. Michael is busy outside, he has washed two vehicles and now he is waxing mine. He intended to have the garage completed by the end of this weekend so that my car would be able to go in there. It's not looking like it's going to happen, unless he does it in the afternoon. It's really hot outside now, and he really should come in for a bit to cool down.
I had planned on moving/sorting my closet this weekend, but that hasn't happened. Hopefully next weekend we can dedicate it to moving cloths around. I need to get my summer things out to wear, and donate what I don't want anymore or can't wear, and I am sure that is alot because I have put on some weight and nothing fits well. Way to tight. So it's time to evaluate how I am eating and try to work in some exercise somewhere.
Anyway, wanted to say hi to all my blogging buddies, and let you know that I have been thinking of you, and keeping those of you in my prayers that have requested prayer. Might try to get back with a update later, but making no promises. Have a super Monday.
Hugs!
