Happy Tuesday everybody!! Have you noticed that there is a “topic”
going around in blogland. In reading several post last night I realized that it isn’t just me. Seem like alot of people feel the same way in regards to this topic. It’s the topic of “style” in/of the home.
What is your style in your home?
Are you true to it? Or are you reading all the blogs out there and trying to conform to what others are doing?
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE to look at how others are decorating their homes, and maybe take a tip or too away to incorporate in the “feel” of my home, but I just can’t make myself get rid of or change my style every time something new comes down the pike. Can you imagine how expensive that would get? YIKES! Hubby WOULD not be happy with that.
For instance, as much as I love the shabby chic look, all the whites, etc, it really isn’t that practical for me. That’s not to say that I wouldn’t love to have a few pieces thrown in for the feminine side of me. But not all throughout the house. But I do love looking at it.
So this got me to thinking about how I decorate. I decorate my home for my family, something that is warm and inviting to all that come to my house, (and on more than one occasion, I have been complimented on my style), I love displaying all my collections(and there are many), and I love mixing all my “antique” pieces with my new things. It works for me. I love finding new uses for “old” discarded pieces of our country’s past.
So I guess you know now where I stand on this “topic”. And I am resigned to stay true to my style, and today I am OKAY with that. I don’t have to feel pressured to change to keep up with what everyone else is doing.
So guess my question is this? Are you on the bandwagon of all the changes to your home? are you being true to your real style? Your thoughts are appreciated.
